I'm committed to helping my clients transform difficulty into opportunity, gain new perspective, and to re-discover their truth so they can be as happy as possible. I received my Masters from Regis University graduating with honors. My professional experience consist of working with individuals, couples, and groups since 1991. The majority of my experience is working with adults having challenges with relationships, difficult emotional issues, and in simply learning to live a happy life.I work with people who are committed to their own personal growth and willing to make the necessary changes to be true to themselves and have integrity with others. I incorporate traditional therapeutic approaches in a compassionate yet direct manner as well as hypnotherapy, Sensorimotor therapy, Relational trauma therapy from Pia Melodies work, & cognitive-behavioral therapy. .I have a M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Regis, in addition to my private practice I facilitated groups at West Pines hospital- psychiatric and chemical dependency units. I have been a meditation practitioner and instructor for 15 years. In terms of psychological well being meditation is one of the best a methods in reducing stress, anxiety, addiction, and depression. When meditation is combined with other therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the combination is 50% more successful than CBT alone .

I am a mindfulness-based trauma and addiction psychotherapist in clinical practice for almost two decades.  My style is relational and attachment-oriented, pulling from psychodynamic theory. I also strongly ascribe to both behavioral and spiritual modalities that emphasize the importance of cultivating connection to Self, others, and the world around us. In addition, I am most passionate about "bottom-up" approaches, which emphasize the mind-body connection as it relates to somatic embodiment and polyvagal theory. I show up with curiosity and gentle inquiry to join in the process that unfolds. I hold a lot of gratitude to be a witness to so many tender and courageous stories, believing my clients have been the most profound teachers. I am credentialed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP II). I have provided individual and group psychotherapy in a variety of settings (inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment programs, outpatient clinics) before opening my own practice. This has included program development and implementation, helping to create evidenced-based, safe, and effective containers for clients and clinicians alike to do their best work. I am so grateful to have cultivated a truly rich set of clinical experiences, learning best from all the people I've had the absolute honor to work with. I've witnessed such incredible transformation! Beyond micro-level clinical work, I love supervising and providing consultation for clinicians as an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) and facilitating organizational trainings or in-services. I also provide field practicum supervision for students and am an adjunct faculty within the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Denver.

Do you ever feel like you’re constantly bracing for something to go wrong - even when things seem fine on the surface? Or like you’re stuck in patterns that you can’t explain but feel impossible to break? If you've found your way here, it's likely because you're carrying a burden that's become too heavy to bear alone. I help young professionals, college students, teens, & children harness the power of authenticity to experience growth and healing from past traumas, reclaim their vitality & peace, and create lasting connection to themselves & others. I am an LCSW and offer clinical supervision. My areas of expertise include anxiety + perfectionism, PTSD + grief, and relationships. I have specialized training in EMDR, IFS, & Synergetic Play Therapy. In sessions, we will prioritize building a trusting relationship, as this is the cornerstone of healing. I am a wife and mama to two energetic little humans who fill my cup daily. When I’m not therapist-ing, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, yoga, painting, being in nature, playing board games, and having living room dance parties. I aim to create a space where you can show up as your full and genuine self, while I do the same. If you are looking for a collaborative and compassionate approach to healing, consider scheduling a free 15 min. consultation. It would be an honor to walk alongside you on this journey of healing.

When you’re the type of person who “shows up” for everyone else, it can be hard to admit you’re burned out. Helping is how you’ve learned to cope, connect and stay safe. I treat depression, anxiety, and burnout for people (15 years and older) who are too busy pleasing others to help themselves. My clients often find themselves having sudden health issues or lack of concentration and get into an identity crisis! "Who am I if I can't pull off miracles every day?!?" I offer a combination of psychotherapy and art therapy, which works well for people who don’t know where to start. I also integrate financial therapy into sessions because money issues are often unspoken roadblocks to personal growth. Art therapy is for all ages, and I primarily work with teens and adults. If a little part of you did a cartwheel when you read “art therapy”, it just might be a good fit for you. If another little part of you also got scared and nervous, that’s completely normal. You won't be judged about talent or skill, it's really about the process, not the product. Many clients have big new insights into their lives by working with images. When you've been running on empty, it's time to fill your tank. I'm a recovered pleaser too!

My belief is that everyone can benefit from therapy and having the support of an unbiased person to talk to. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is based on the belief that our thoughts create our feelings, and that if we change our negative thinking our feelings will change. CBT teaches that it is not the event which causes the emotion (and our behavioral reaction) but the meaning we give that event - or what we think ABOUT that event. There are many powerful tools that have been developed to help you change your negative thoughts and feelings. Working with a Mental Health Therapist will help you learn how to use those tools to make changes in your life and relationships. Negative distorted thoughts tell us “once everything falls into place, I will feel peace”. Therapy helps you find your peace and then everything falls into place.

Struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, or however your distress manifests makes us feel trapped, in cycles of outbursts or avoidance, and coping in ways that are not sustainable. We blame ourselves bringing us further from feeling connected and closer to feeling ashamed. Typically what we see on the surface is mistaken for ourself and is our way to cope with the issues that lie underneath. Therapy is creating a compassionate and purposeful environment to dive into deeper issues, seeing how these issues present in daily life, and developing relevant skills to free ourselves from these issues. I utilize a psychodynamic, relational, and an EMDR based framework to help you dive inward to find underlying issues. I use mindfulness meditation based practices to help my clients build evidence based skills to move through their issues and into inner strength. My integrative approach is here to help you find practical application in daily life. We can begin on a path aiming at feeling present and competent in daily life, building a flow with your emotional experiences, and towards feelings of wholeness in life. Click email or call to get in touch and visit my website for more information. I'll find a time that works for you to get you started soon.

Are you looking for an experienced clinician who believes in the healing power of support and that we all deserve a life of value, even if we haven't solved all the pain and problems in our lives? There may be a part of you that tries to convince you that it’s not going to work, that your situation is too much or not enough or that clinicians just don’t know how to help you. The things you or your family have done to cope with pain or trauma or grief have now become problems too. Very often, we do these these thing to protect ourselves, because we care. Another part of you, even if it’s small, hopes for the opportunity to be understood, to be able to be transparent and to be appreciated for who you are in this moment. In my 20+ clinical years, I have truly seen miracles happen, even in the most complex situations. The work we do together will allow for emotions to be worked through, learn how to build a network of support and the practicing of advanced, evidenced based skills and processes to move towards and into a life worth living. I would be honored to be your guide.

Many different disorders can be improved or be eliminated by using neurofeedback. First a QEEG is collected. This involves placing a cap on the client’s head and collecting brain wave information from 19 specific sites. This information is processed, and a brain map is produced. The therapist then evaluates the data, completes a comprehensive health history, and then based on both symptoms and goals, develops an individualized protocol of successive neurotherapy sessions. Treatment is noninvasive, is not painful, but does require a commitment. Just as you must work out your body consistently to see results, neurofeedback sessions must be completed two to three times a week to be beneficial. The neurofeedback treatments involve placing sensors on the scalp. The sensors pick up brainwave signals which are first amplified and then filtered through software that works with a computer to generate real time feedback. The brain activity is either increased or decreased in the identified areas until the optimal balance is achieved The typical treatment plan will vary from individual to individual, but most common disorders can be resolved in about 40 sessions.
