Being a student is a tough time of transition. There are alot of feelings that are swirling around, along with having to "stay on top of all of your academics and/or sports". For many students, it is the first time living without parents/guardians. You have to deal with faculty, and manage expectations from others as well as yourself. College life can be fun, but at the same time very stressful! Sometimes the stress causes other problems to pop up that you have not had to deal with before, or perhaps you did, but on a manageable level. Counseling can be an opportunity to talk through alot of these frustrations, and challenges. It can be a time to also find out about other resources in the world that can be helpful. Either way, it is YOUR time to figure out what would be helpful, and to get it! Reach out to Rays of Hope, we are eager to assist you during this time! PLEASE NOTE: I ALSO have office hours in Bala Cynwyd, Pa. which is right outside of Phila. near City Line Avenue.

Therapy is an opportunity to alleviate emotional pain and also a safe space to reflect and grow. When seeking therapy, many people might be unsure of what they want and afraid of the uncertainty. My hope is to help you walk through a healthy perspective to replenish a meaningful and rewarding life where you could see yourself more completely and inspire yourself to be the calm within the storm. With a compassionate, non-judgmental, and psychologically mindful space, I hope you will feel deeply understood and optimistic. I work from a genuine, authentic and collaboratively open style. My work is tailored to each client’s needs and presenting problems. During our sessions, we may focus on discovering new coping strategies to manage problems, widening your perspective, providing tools to overcome stressors, facilitate insight as well as promoting self-care and resiliency. Having an international background, I value diversity and I am deeply attuned to your unique social and cultural identity and its effect on your individuality, sense of purpose and meaning in life. Currently, I am a full-time Staff Psychologist at the University of Pennsylvania, Counseling and Psychological Services. Check my WEBSITE for more information!

Understanding that our experiences are shaped by the environments we live in—our communities, culture, and relationships—I take a trauma-informed and relational approach to therapy. My work is grounded in the belief that healing begins when we feel seen, safe, and connected. I aim to create a space where you can explore your emotions, express yourself freely, and begin to reconnect with your body and sense of self. As an art therapist, I believe creativity can be a powerful pathway to understanding and transformation. In our sessions, we might use artmaking, mindfulness, or gentle somatic practices to help you express what words can’t always capture. These creative tools can support regulation, insight, and a deeper connection to your inner world. My practice integrates mindfulness, person-centered, and feminist frameworks, and I work collaboratively with each client to find what feels most supportive. I specialize in working with anxiety, life transitions, women’s issues, and LGBTQ+ concerns, and I strive to provide an affirming space where all identities and experiences are honored. I see therapy as a collaborative and compassionate process—one where we explore not just what feels painful, but also what brings meaning, resilience, and joy. My goal is to help you cultivate a sense of internal safety and confidence as you move toward a more grounded, authentic version of yourself. Outside of my work as a therapist, I find joy in thrifting and antiquing, or getting lost in a good fantasy novel alongside my two cats, Cricket and Jerry. If my approach resonates with you, I invite you to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation. I’d be honored to connect and support you on your healing journey.

In our initial sessions, I will encourage you to engage in activities that nurture your emotional, social, spiritual, and environmental well-being. I believe that you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences freely. Together, we’ll work to uncover your inner strengths and coping strategies, helping you move toward healing, growth, and recovery. My passion for this work stems from a commitment to helping individuals recognize their own potential and navigate life’s challenges with resilience. My goal is to guide you on your journey to a more fulfilling, balanced life.

I see plenty of college students, including those who are taking a semester or two off as they figure out what to do next. I have two main areas of specialization: ADHD and sex therapy. I have written four books on ADHD and am a certified sex therapist. I tend to keep things practical and focus on what is going on in my clients' daily lives and how to help them get to where they want to be (which may begin with figuring out where that is anyway).

Hey! My name is Jordan (she/hers) and I am currently accepting new clients for individual talk therapy, either virtually or in person at Intersection Therapy's office in Center City Philadelphia. As a counselor, I would be a great fit for anyone looking to work on themes related to shame and self-compassion, body-image, sex and sexuality, dating/relationships, family dynamics, phase of life changes–and especially, gender exploration. As a queer, Jewish, creative person, I prioritize meeting an individual where they are in their story, including their particular intersection of identities–whether it be sexuality, race, gender, disability, illness, or anything else. My sessions are affirming spaces where you can wonder about the wonder that is you! Please contact me for a free 15 min consultation phone call if you'd like to get a better sense of how well we would fit working together, as well as if you have any questions about how therapy can work for you. When we are facing life stressors, we often focus on addressing the immediate symptoms. This can be very adaptive. However, if we only ever focus on the immediate symptoms of our struggles, then we may never recognize or have the possibility of healing the cause of our pain. I believe that therapy provides a powerful space to explore, understand, and ultimately heal the root causes of our struggles. I approach my work with insight from a variety of therapeutic frameworks, including Narrative Therapy, IFS, Solution Focused Therapy, & Attachment Theory. I am also formally trained in EMDR which I can incorporate into therapy. I approach therapy with an anti-oppressive lens to assist clients dealing with the impacts of homophobia, transphobia, racism, ableism, and misogyny and am versed in supporting individuals with a wide range of challenges, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, ADHD, Autism, Bipolar, and chronic pain. I come to my work not merely as an outsider with expertise, but as a neurodivergent and transgender individual myself who has lived experience navigating many of the issues I work to help others heal from. It has been my privilege to help a wide variety of clients, and I look forward to learning how I can help you too!

Hi! I'm Diane, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania. I have experience working alongside individuals with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and adjustment concerns. I employ an eclectic approach that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness and problem-solving techniques, along with others, to assist you. I am not certified in a specific approach; however, I have had training and experience with each. I am grateful you have started the journey to begin mental health counseling; I can understand how scary this may be for you. I am here to help you process situations and build skills to aid you in overcoming your challenges. I believe one of my greatest strengths is building rapport to determine how to best be present for you, through empathy and active listening, in a judgment free space, and walk with you on this journey. Counseling is not a 'one size fits all' endeavor and I will spend time getting to know you to determine what best fits you as an individual.
