Therapists for college students near Ketner, PA
Hi! I’m Irene, and I am happy you are here. If you are neurodivergent woman searching for a therapist, you deserve someone who is non-judgmental and values your uniqueness. Have you been dealing with anxiety, fear, depression or anger? You may be in a partnership with another neurodivergent person, and you struggle with communication, or you may have trouble keeping up with daily life, like taking care of your living space, or doing the laundry. Maybe your children are grown and out of the house, and you are not sure what to do next with your life. All of this may be difficult to navigate. We can work together to make life less challenging. I am passionate about providing a non-judgmental, neuro-affirming therapeutic space for my clients. I have worked in the special education field for years and have collaborated with parents of neurodivergent children. I work with folks who are finding that their life seems to be more difficult than those around them. We can collaborate to support you in a person-centered setting. Counseling is different for each of us, and together we can work to achieve your goals. With my integrative approach, I will meet you where you are in your journey to wellness. We can do this together! Working under the supervision of Colleen Torrey.
I am a solo practitioner working in private practice full time in an effort to alleviate the mental health crisis happening in this country while also providing supervision and management in a full-time mental health position. I have extensive experience working with adolescents and young adults (we call that Transition Aged youth in the biz) with a particular interest and experience with ADHD, Anxiety, OCD, Depression, Bipolar Disorders, Psychosis-symptoms, Trichotillomania, Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental disorders. Transitioning to adulthood is no joke, so don't feel bad about needing some help sometimes. It's temporary.
Hello! I am a double board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with Fine Tune Psychiatry. I treat individuals 18 years and older and am trained in all areas of adolescent and adult psychiatry including mood and anxiety disorders, OCD and adult ADHD. My years as a nurse practitioner at the University of Pennsylvania’s Student Health and Wellness Center shaped my deep appreciation for the unique pressures that students face. My clinical approach blends evidence-based psychiatric care with whole-person wellness, holistic coping strategies and sustainable mental health habits. I also bring years of experience from emergency and urgent care settings, which have helped to create my calm, approachable, and thorough clinical style.
How are you doing with the dystopia? I'm Cori, and with me, therapy starts by acknowledging that we are living in the dark ages. But my clients are heroic. They're intrepid. They're wise. They are struggling to make meaning and survive in a harsh and terrifying era. Most of us feel pretty powerless. I try to offer a brand of queer Buddhist wizardry that helps people break generational curses, find the power they DO have, and create community that sustains them. I offer many evidence based approaches to therapy, especially those that help us change our relationship with ourselves, and changing our relationship with life and reality. Existential therapy, acceptance & commitment therapy, and narrative approaches are my bread-and-butter. I also work from a great deal of other experiences; as an activist, queer organizer, drag artist, social work professor, and a student of many wisdom traditions. I lived abroad in both Europe and Asia and know how alienating, frightening, and difficult it can be to adjust to a radically different culture. I studied tàijíquán and Daoist thought on Wǔdāng mountain in central China from 2010 to 2011, and have studied and practiced Buddhism since 2011 with various Tibetan, Bhutanese, and western Lamas.

Many of my patients are people with multicultural/multiracial families and relationships, immigrants or the adult children of immigrants, people of Asian descent, graduate students, clinicians, or people who still feel empty and unsatisfied after achieving conventional hallmarks of success. Many have experienced shifts in class and/or religious identity who are looking to more deeply understand how their experience of depression, anxiety, or trauma is tied to these transgenerational and cross-cultural forces. With empathy and care, I will partner with you to explore your life, history, culture(s), and the wider world to see how these shape your inner experiences and relationships. In addition to feeling better, my hope is to help you to discover and create new ways of being in the world that feel more alive, flexible, authentic, resilient, and effective. Many people have mixed feelings about starting therapy and finding the right fit is so important for meaningful and long-lasting changes. If this profile has resonated with you in some way, there are no fees or commitments for the initial consultation. If you'd like to meet and learn more, please reach out today or visit my website.

Embarking on a journey towards mental well-being takes both vulnerability and courage. Therapy is a transformative space where vulnerability turns into strength, and courage takes the helm of your healing journey. As your collaborative partner, I would be honored to walk alongside you and support you as you navigate life's challenges and discover the strength within you. About Me: I am a therapist rooted in the foundational principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), meaning I focus on the intertwining of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. My approach to therapy is enriched by a versatile blend of various modalities, including Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I also utilize skill-building modalities, such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to assist clients in working towards their goals in therapy. My approach is individualized to support the specific needs of each client. During our time together, it is my hope that you feel empowered to explore, express, and grow, that you feel supported to show up authentically as yourself. Specialization: I bring a wealth of experience supporting clients on identity formation/exploration, anxiety, depression, body image, postpartum issues, ADHD, Autism, and those who are a part of the foster care/adoption community. I have extensive experience working with adolescent and young adult clients. While I do not work with couples, I have worked extensively with individuals who are hoping to improve their relationships with others by enhancing interpersonal communication skills such as conflict resolution and assertive communication. I have been able to assist clients with navigating new relationships and relationship changes (such as divorce or separation), processing infidelity, and navigating child/caregiver and adult child/parent relationships. I will often address relational issues through an attachment lens, and process the impact that attachment styles have on one’s interactions and behaviors in relationships. I am also passionate about supporting individuals living with chronic illnesses and disabilities. Having walked a similar path, I deeply understand the intricacies of such experiences. I bring not only professional expertise but also a deep well of empathy. Together, we will navigate the intricacies of your struggles with compassion and understanding. Flexibility: I meet with clients both in-person at our West Chester office and virtually via telehealth, My commitment to your well-being and growth remains, regardless of the medium. The search for a counselor/therapist can be overwhelming. It is my goal to present a clear and comprehensive picture of my services and approach to therapy. I strive to create an environment where my clients can feel accepted, safe and understood. You are the expert on your life. My job is to make sure that you are utilizing all your expertise. Are you someone who feels that life has no meaning or purpose? Are feelings of depression and anxiety holding you back from finding your true potential? Many times, life transitions and sudden change can magnify these feelings of uncertainty. You are not alone. I specialize in assisting those who are uncertain of what they need or want from life. Learn ways to manage your discomfort so that you can begin to focus on what is truly important to you. The best time to consider counseling is when troubled thinking or behaviors begins to affect your daily living; jobs, friendships, family and intimate relationships. For some, these issues may be longstanding patterns that began years ago. For others, sudden changes such as a loss, crisis, trauma or addiction can trigger unfamiliar feelings that paralyze your ability to get through the day. My focus is on that voice in the head we all hear. It is the voice that shapes our perceptions of people, the world and ourselves. It is the voice that tells us that we are deficient, that life is scary, that things are never going to get better. Those thoughts are not as significant as you may believe.
