I provide traditional talk therapy along with art therapy and creative expression to offer a space conducive to inner growth. My goal as an art therapist is to offer a safe and respectful space for anyone who wants to engage in creative self-expression through a variety of therapeutic approaches. The transition from high school to whatever lies beyond it for you can be challenging. Suddenly, the whole world is in front of you and there is no set "map" for what is next. You can choose college, or a career. You can stay in your home town or move far away. You have increased opportunities to explore your own identity, make choices about romantic partnerships, and consider whether you'd like to start your own family some day. Your friends' lives are changing too; some will remain in your life and you'll grow apart from others. Your relationship with your family is also changing-- both in ways that feel helpful and ways that feel hard or sad. There are so many new decisions to make, people to meet, places to explore. For some young adults, these changes feel exciting. Others feel overwhelmed and even paralyzed, frozen, by all of these changes at once. Often, there are a mix of emotions present. As we adjust to the demands of a new job or a difficult college class, or living away from our families for the first time, we may notice increased stress or big emotions that feel difficult to manage. Times of transition can also stir up past wounds such as memories of difficult or traumatic events or tense relationships with loved ones. We may find ourselves experiencing increased symptoms of worry, intense sadness, decreased motivation, conflict with other people, or intrusive thoughts and memories that affect our ability to sleep or concentrate. Some of us may try to cope by using alcohol or other substances, and we may start to wonder if this is really as helpful as we once thought it was. Young adulthood can be so many things, both wonderful and challenging. Sometimes, therapy can be a helpful way to sort it all out or heal from difficult events that continue to make daily life difficult. I enjoy working with young adults as they navigate this unique season of life, and would be honored to walk alongside you in this work. I believe you are incredibly resilient, meaning you are capable of getting through hard things. My approach is to work as a team with you to identify the strengths you already have, discuss your goals, and determine which strategies might be most helpful to help you reach those goals. I also understand the importance of finding the right match when you are looking for a therapist. Feel free to visit my website to schedule a free 15 minute consultation and we can chat to see if we are a good fit. I accept multiple insurance plans, and can offer both in-person and telehealth therapy. www.quietudetherapy.com

The families and students who thrive in my practice often arrive seeking support for the very real challenges they face—challenges that can feel isolating, overwhelming, or misunderstood in other settings. Many of my clients are navigating: Autism and the need for a more affirming, strength-based approach that values neurodiversity. ADHD and the daily push-pull of focus, impulsivity, and emotional intensity. The lingering effects of trauma, where safety, trust, and connection need to be rebuilt. Executive function struggles that impact school, home routines, and relationships. Emotional regulation challenges, especially when big feelings lead to big reactions. A deep desire to improve family communication, but feeling stuck in old patterns. What they share is not just the presence of these challenges—but also a commitment to change, a curiosity about their own growth, and families who want to better understand and support one another. In our work together, we don’t just manage behaviors—we build insight, confidence, and skills. We make space for emotional expression, teach tools that empower independence, and strengthen co-regulation and communication across the whole family system.

I truly believe that everyone has the capacity to grow when they’re in a space that feels safe and accepting. At the heart of my work is building a genuine, trusting connection with you—because real healing begins when you feel truly seen, heard, understood, and accepted. Together, we’ll create a warm and welcoming space where vulnerability is embraced and self-exploration feels comfortable. Above all, I’m here to hold space for you with kindness and openness, honoring your unique needs, passions, experiences, wisdom, and hopes for the future. Specializations I’m especially passionate about supporting adults who grew up with caregivers who, for various reasons, may not have met their emotional needs.Together, we work to heal from those early experiences, find your true voice, clarify what matters most to you, and create a life that feels authentic, grounded, and free. I work with clients ages 15 and up to navigate challenges related to: Childhood relational trauma, emotionally immature parents, & unmet emotional needs Relationship patterns, boundaries, people-pleasing, & guilt Exploring identity, values, & personal growth Identity diffusion & enmeshment Shame, self-doubt, & indecisiveness Life transitions & emerging adulthood Grief & loss Anxiety, depression, & low self-worth Emotional regulation & distress tolerance Could We be a Good Fit? Clients who tend to do well with me often appreciate a little lightheartedness or humor during our sessions and enjoy putting what we talk about into practice between meetings—sometimes through small homework or weekly goals. Many have found it helpful to bring their creative interests into our work, which helps us build a space where you can feel safe, inspired, and free to be your authentic self. I’ve also noticed that adolescents, young adults, and college students often feel especially comfortable and connected in our time together. Therapeutic Approaches My approach to therapy is primarily rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Together, we’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors with curiosity and work toward making the changes you’d like to see in yourself. For those who resonate with this approach, I incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support compassionate exploration of your inner parts. I also use a person-centered and trauma-informed lens, honoring the impact of your life experiences and creating a space where all parts of you are welcome. While CBT and IFS are my go-to methods, I like to keep things flexible, drawing from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to tailor our work to what feels right for you. My hope is that you find a space in therapy that feels human, welcoming, and uniquely yours. If you think we might be a good fit, I’d love to connect and explore how we can work together in a way that supports your growth. I currently offer teletherapy sessions at River Wards Wellness Collective.
