Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling (in supervision towards licensure)
I believe each person has the potential for growth when given a safe and accepting environment. Together we’ll create a warm, comfortable space that welcomes vulnerability and self-exploration. I practice acceptance and authenticity in order to form a genuine connection and establish a strong therapeutic relationship. Above all, I value embracing you as you are by honoring your unique needs, passions, experiences, knowledge, and goals. It’s a privilege to support and empower you as you grow in alignment with your identity and values.
Specializations:
My previous experiences in the community mental health setting have allowed me to support clients in navigating a range of different obstacles. I work with clients ages 15+ in overcoming challenges related to:
-Anxiety, Depression, & ADHD
-Self-esteem, identity development, & values exploration
-Life transitions, college adjustment, & stress from academics,
-Childhood trauma & grief and loss
-Relationship issues & boundary setting
Could We be a Good Fit?
Clients who tend to do well with me appreciate using light humor in session and practice applying therapeutic work between sessions, often through the use of homework or weekly goals. Many of my clients have found value in incorporating their creative interests into our work together, allowing us to create a space in which you feel free to connect with and embrace your authentic self. Words are just one of many forms of communication and self-expression. Adolescents, young adults, and college students often report feeling especially comfortable and connected in our sessions.
Therapeutic Approaches:
My approach to therapy is primarily rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Together we’ll approach your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors with a sense of curiosity and work toward making the changes you’d like to see in yourself. I also take a person-centered and trauma-informed approach to helping clients, seeking to understand the impact of your life experiences. While I draw primarily from these modalities, I also incorporate mindfulness and aspects of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) with those who are interested.
My hope is that you find a welcoming space that allows you to grow. If you feel we could be a good fit, let’s connect and explore ways to make our work unique to you!
