I offer a modern, relational approach to therapy designed for how people actually live today. As a licensed clinical social worker, EMDR-Certified therapist, and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, I provide fully virtual therapy with flexible video and text-based support beyond the traditional session. My style is unconventional and integrative, grounded in meaningful connection. Together, we explore your inner world, understand patterns, and build a more grounded sense of self. This is your space—collaborative, flexible, and tailored to you. I integrate trauma-informed, relational, and somatic approaches to support identity, relationships, life transitions, and substance use. I’ve worked with individuals across diverse cultures, identities, and backgrounds. Therapy is available in English and Spanish. Licensed in FL, PA, and VT. Reach out to get started. In addition to clinical work, I collaborate with organizations and lead nature-based digital detox retreats in Northern Colombia’s Sierra Nevada. These immersive experiences integrate therapeutic insight, nervous system regulation, and relational work to foster meaningful connection and lasting change. I also develop CEU-approved educational content.

I use a humanistic, person-centered approach, utilizing a trauma-informed perspective. I strongly believe in the counselor-individual relationship, and feel a person's experiences influence their outlook and approach to the world. Through this approach, I feel individuals have the potential to grow if they have the support and environment to do so.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over ten years of experience working as a dynamic psychotherapist. I am a deeply empathic therapist, whose warmth and humor help to create a safe environment for self-exploration, growth and empowerment. Together with my clients, I work to forge a new story about themselves and the world that comes from a place of strength and acceptance. I aim to help my clients live a richer life, engage in more fulfilling relationships with themselves and others, and embrace opportunities. I have worked extensively with people recovering from addictions and trauma. I am certified in couples and family therapy, and work with families coping with addiction. I enjoy working individually with women on self-development. Areas of interest: trauma, loss, anxiety, depression, life transitions, young adulthood, exploring family and childhood. The struggles of transition to young adulthood are of particular interest to me. This time of life is so full of possibility; simultaneously exciting and scary. I have a great deal of experience working with students, as my office is minutes from the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University.

My experience on the other side of the 'couch' has shown me that real change is possible when you make your mental health a priority. It takes courage to ask for support, and you don't have to face life's challenges alone. Therapy provides a safe, supportive space for you to share and process what you’ve been carrying. In our sessions, I’ll use strengths-based approaches, insight-building techniques, and various therapeutic modalities to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and achieve your personal goals. My approach to therapy is both conversational and practical (somewhere in the middle of talking to a friend while also getting concrete techniques and insights). I strive to create a safe environment where your story is valued, and you are treated as the expert of your own lived experiences. I specialize in supporting individuals who have a sense of overwhelm, ruminating thoughts, burnout, lack of motivation, disconnected, feeling hopeless and detached, and life transitions. What You Can Expect: - Problem Solving: We'll focus on addressing the issues causing you the most stress right now. - New Understanding: You'll gain clarity on your symptoms, triggers, and responses, making them less intimidating and more manageable. - Tools and Strategies: You'll learn evidence-based techniques to manage overwhelming thoughts and emotions. - Confidence: You'll recognize your strength in handling anxiety, guilt, and sadness, empowering you to take control. Let's take this step toward self-care—I'm here to help.

In today's world, it can be extremely challenging to feel truly and simply happy. Many are struggling to develop a sense of identity, and may experience a lack of boundaries, people-pleasing tendencies, and confusion about their own wants and needs. The pressure can feel overwhelming, leading us to struggle with anxiety, loneliness, life transitions, and our relationships. But it doesn't need to be this way; Change is possible. If this resonates with you as you seek to find support, you’re in exactly the right place and I’m so glad you’re here. I believe that connection is the basis of healing so I prioritize creating a safe and nurturing therapeutic space, where we work together to heal your relationship with others and, most importantly, with yourself. Hi! My name is Emma and I’m a white, queer, cis femme millennial therapist. I know that’s a lot of descriptors, but social identity is core to my therapy practice. I believe that our social identities, along with our personal histories and relationships, shape our experience of the world. I’m a relational psychotherapist, which means I’m interested in your relationships and how they shape your life. This also means that our therapeutic relationship is the main tool for your growth and healing. When you feel heard and validated, it gives you the foundation to build healthy relationships with yourself and others. I’m not the kind of therapist who sits back and scribbles on a notepad. I believe that you’re the expert of your life and I’m here to support you—to hold the map, flashlight, and the bag of snacks. In my pre-therapist former life, I was a teaching artist, workshop facilitator, and nonprofit program coordinator. My academic journey focused on intersectional queer and feminist theory, history, and literature. I’ve also been active in organizing around racial and economic issues in my communities. I’m kink positive, fat positive, and pleasure positive. I affirm poly and queer identities. I believe white supremacy and internalized capitalism dehumanize us, and therapy is a space to name, process, and grieve these impacts. I might be the right therapist for you if: - you have anxiety and/or depression -you identify as LGBTQ or navigating questions around these identities -you struggle in relationships with family, friends, or partners, particularly around boundaries -you have experienced trauma -you navigate challenges around body image and self-esteem I also offer a free video consultation to see if we’re the right fit. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to take the next step!

Most people in your life would be surprised to know that you have internal struggles because you hide it well, but deep down inside you feel unfulfilled and unhappy. While some areas of your life are good, other areas never seem to improve no matter how hard you work on them. There seems to be this pattern of behavior that constantly gets in your way. It appears as if something is always holding you back, you feel stuck and unsure of how to move forward. You want to learn how to love and accept yourself and improve the quality of your relationships, starting with the relationship with yourself. We will work together to help you develop healthy habits and new ways of thinking. My goal is to partner with you as you become more self-aware, confident, and courageous. I am passionate about helping you to create a more loving and helpful attitude towards yourself and others so that you can have the life you dream of.

A dandelion will remain closed if there is a storm on the horizon, but once the storm has passed it will open up its beautiful, vulnerable self to the world. Only with safety is healing possible. In the same way, humans stay closed up tight if the environment isn’t safe. We know the importance of a safe, supportive environment and strive to provide that to each client. For counseling in Pennsylvania, whether in-person or online, we are here to walk beside you, hear your experience, provide guidance, and help you find the life you’ve so desired. The art of therapy is a process with which it can take time to become familiar. Psychotherapy is most effective when the therapist and the client are able to build trust with each other. The trust established between the client and the therapist allows for openness, honesty, and vulnerability in the session. As you progress through therapy, you may experience difficult emotions such as anger, hurt, disappointment, or pain. These emotions are natural to the healing process and it is my role to help care for you when you do experience these emotions. Practicing primarily from a Psychodynamic frame with a strong emphasis on attachment, I incorporate Schema, Cognitive-Behavioral, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and other Process-Experiential approaches and techniques based on the needs of the client(s). Although I work with a variety of issues, my primary clinical focus is trauma, emotional abuse, affairs and betrayal traumas, existential crisis and restoration/deepening of the relationship one has with him/her/their self. Simply, I am interested in helping individuals and couples restore their sense of safety, re-establish their sense of self, re-discover their place in relationships and the world, and find meaning in life. Populations with whom I am particularly familiar and enjoy working with are: Young Adults, Artists and Creatives, and the LGBTQ Community. I help individuals, couples and groups work through relationship and life-stage concerns, issues pertaining to sexuality and gender identity, and questions and concerns around faith and spirituality.

My clients are dedicated athletes grappling with eating disorders or OCD, facing the dual challenges of their mental health and a desire to perform at their peak. They are often overwhelmed by the demands of their sport, which can blur the lines between passion and harmful habits. Their primary goal is to reclaim their lives and their love for their sport, seeking not just recovery, but transformation—an opportunity to realign their beliefs and values towards a healthier, more balanced existence. They crave empowerment, resilience, and the ability to thrive both in their athletic pursuits and personal lives.

The individuals I help on a daily basis experience anxiety, depression, nightmares, issues with controlling their substance use, and difficulties building and maintaining meaningful relationships. The majority of the individuals I work with have experienced physical, verbal, or sexual abuse, neglect, and/or have gone through adversities and overwhelming experiences that have left a lasting impact on them. Events affect us all differently, if you feel like you are exhausted with trying to manage uncomfortable feelings alone, reach out and we can have a conversation about how our work may be able to give you the relief you have been hoping for. I look forward to hearing from you!
