Everyone has things in life they want or need to do. As an occupational therapist, I believe that satisfaction stems from engaging in activities that align with one's values. Therefore, my work focuses on guiding individuals to engage in occupations they find meaningful; These could include adopting healthier lifestyle habits, enhancing organization skills, excelling in academic or professional settings, building social connections, managing stress, and more. Through a collaborative and conversation-based approach, I work with clients to identify goals, harness inner strengths, and overcome obstacles to making meaningful change. I work with individuals seeking support in areas such as attention, motivation, sensory processing, relationship building, and time management. While I work with people of all ages, I have a particular passion for supporting college students and young professionals as they navigate the complexities of adulthood and discover their unique paths to fulfillment. My practice is guided by my doctoral work on motivation and resiliency and prioritizes trauma processing to facilitate healing & engagement. I strive to create a warm environment where clients feel accepted and understood. Wherever you’re at on your journey, it would be my honor to help you to discover greater meaning and satisfaction in your life.
Something feels off, and you can't quite name it. You're doing everything you were supposed to do, but the life you're living doesn't feel fully like yours. You look around and it seems like everyone else found their footing, their person, their purpose. And quietly, you've started to wonder: Why not me? What am I missing? The gap between where you are and where you thought you'd be by now can feel like failure, even when, logically, you know it isn't. You're measuring yourself against a timeline you didn't write, comparing your insides to everyone else's outsides, and coming up short every time. The loneliness isn't just about being single or not having the career you wanted. It's the disconnection from yourself, from knowing who you are and what you actually want, separate from what you were always told to want. You don't need to have it all figured out. But you do deserve to feel at home in your own life, curious about where you're going rather than ashamed of where you are. You deserve to trust yourself again. I work with women who are navigating that in-between, exploring who they are, longing for real connection, and untangling the anxiety that comes with feeling behind. Together, we'll loosen the grip of comparison, get clear on what you actually value, and help you build a life that feels genuinely yours, not a performance of what it was supposed to look like. I offer online therapy in North Carolina and Pennsylvania. If this sounds like you, please reach out to schedule a free 15 minute consultation!
Hey there and welcome to therapy! Congrats on taking the steps to focus on YOU! My name is Kailyn and I am dedicated to creating a supportive and authentic environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself. Whether you're managing the challenges of college life or simply looking for someone to talk to, I’m here to guide and support you. My approach is centered on building a warm and trusting therapeutic relationship that helps you grow, increase your self-awareness, and improve your overall well-being. I am a Master’s level clinician with a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rosemont College and a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Art from Saint Joseph’s University. I have a strong background in working with young adults and adults, helping them navigate issues such as anxiety, depression ADHD, trauma, life transitions, and self-esteem. My experience includes working in both individual and group settings, and I’m committed to helping you address whatever challenges you may be facing. In therapy, I utilize a personalized approach that may include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT), somatic therapies, and mindfulness-based interventions. My goal is to help you discover what works best for you, empowering you to build self-compassion, enhance your relationships, and develop emotional resilience. When I'm not in therapist mode, I enjoy unwinding with a good TV show (currently Love Island), spending quality time with my fur-babies, enjoying live music, exploring nature, and staying connected with family and friends. I’m here to support you on your journey. Let’s take the first step together.
We all experience times of change, transition, and stress that can affect mood and anxiety. I offer an active, collaborative working relationship grounded in respect, transparency, and a deep desire to help clients heal and grow. You are surrounded by people and still doing this alone. That is one of the most common things students bring me: a full schedule, a workable GPA or a funded assistantship, and a quiet sense that the path you are on was chosen for you rather than by you. Sometimes it shows up as anxiety that arrives before every deadline. Sometimes it is a loss you never had room to grieve because the semester did not stop for it. Sometimes it is the question you cannot safely ask your advisor, your parents, or your cohort without it costing you something. I spent 24 years in higher education before I became a counselor. I was an undergraduate and a graduate student, a program coordinator, an assistant professor, and a state extension specialist at Penn State and Ohio State. I know what comps do to a person's sleep, what it is like to change direction three years into a degree, and how hard it is to find someone who understands both your field and your wellbeing. I went back to school part-time for five years while teaching, parenting two young kids, and holding a marriage together, and I founded AutumnSpring Counseling® for people in exactly that kind of transition. My work sits at the intersection of grief, career, and mental health, because those three rarely travel alone: a change of major is also a loss, and a career decision is also an identity question. I am Joshua A. Kirby, LPC, CCC, GC-C, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania with national certification in career counseling and grief counseling. I practice Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which is present-focused and built on clarifying your actual values and acting on them. Sessions are direct and structured. Expect honesty, not just an hour of agreement. My office is in The Allenway Building on South Allen Street, walkable from campus, with a private waiting room and a separate exit. Telehealth is available throughout Pennsylvania, and I am also registered to see clients located in Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Montana, South Carolina, and Vermont, which matters if you go home for the summer or study away. AutumnSpring Counseling® is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance, so there are no coverage limits, no insurer-required diagnosis, and no plan administrator shaping your care. Current rates and payment methods, including HSA and FSA cards, are listed at autumnspring.co/fees. If you want to find out whether we are a good fit, the next step is a no-cost consultation call. Read more at www.autumnspring.co, then email josh@autumnspring.co or call 814-826-3737.

College is an exciting time though it can be an overwhelming one as well. College comes with its own unique set of challenges - increased workload, the need for greater time management, increased independence, and trying to find a good work-life balance, to name a few. College life can bring on new anxiety or exacerbate pre-existing anxiety, and managing this and coping in healthy and effective ways can prove difficult at times. Anxiety and stress can also trigger new or worsen pre-existing Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs), like Excoriation Disorder (skin picking) and Trichotillomania (hair pulling). If you are a female student struggling with anxiety and need help managing it, and/or are having a difficult time with BFRBs, I would love to work with you. Together we will work on identifying stressors/triggers as well as strategies and skills you can use to better manage your anxiety and/or your BFRB. I look forward to meeting you!
