Therapists for college students near New York University
The Loom was created as a space that recognizes the interconnectedness between an individual’s struggles and their relationships. Life’s challenges can impact our relationships, and in turn, our relationships can either serve as a source of support or contribute to the challenges we face. The Loom aims to help clients address these issues by exploring how individuals’ struggles affect their relationships and vice versa, acknowledging the dynamic interplay between the two. This understanding forms the basis of our therapeutic approach, which seeks to support healing and growth within the context of these relationships. The most common reasons students come to see us are related to anxiety and depression, dating and relationship issues, academic or career related stress and burnout, gender and sexuality identity, disordered eating and body image, as well as cultural and identity focus. We offer individual and couples sessions in person in union square or online. We are also proud to offer sessions in Spanish.

As a psychodynamic clinician and LMSW, I specialize in trauma/C-PTSD for adults, helping them release stuck energy within the nervous system. Autonomy is the foundation of my practice, and this belief supports your ability to reach your own goals. I look forward to supporting your capacity for regulation and growth in our work together. I’m passionate about empowering your move from surviving to thriving in life through a gentle and non-judgmental approach customized to your unique set of needs. Working together, you can expect a warm and contained environment that incorporates Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Deep Brain Reorienting, and Brainspotting to support you in differentiating between past and present and working through traumatic experiences. My path to becoming a therapist began with my time at Boston Area RCC, an experience that deepened my interest in working with survivors of sexual assault and in learning how to foster patients' innate capacity for growth. I bring that same interest in the nervous system, and in the over-coupling and under-coupling patterns that can keep a patient stuck, into each session. When I’m not in session, I enjoy spending time with dogs and friends.

I have worked with people experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including trauma, eating disorders, OCD, relationship struggles, and academic stress. I am attuned to the role oppression plays in my patients' lives and am LGBTQIA+ affirming. I enjoy working with students, artists and people with creative practices, those undergoing life transitions, and people seeking to understand intergenerational sources of suffering. My style is warm and nonjudgmental. I am guided by the belief that each person contains inherent strengths and knowledge, and that a primary goal of treatment is to allow for the expression of this unique experience. In our work together, we will move between past and present to understand what it’s like to be you. We will look carefully at your struggles, as well as how you love and dream. This diligent attention to your experience can result in satisfying and often surprising changes in personal, creative, and professional endeavors. In time, this knowledge of the self may also reduce symptoms such as depression, anxiety, and physical pain. I am a New York State licensed master social worker and graduated with honors from Silberman School of Social Work. I am a candidate in adult psychoanalysis at the Contemporary Freudian Society. Your customized treatment plan may include psychodynamic and person-centered therapies, integrated with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and relational therapy to guide you in reaching your goals. My passion for therapy grew from wanting to be a safe space for people going through difficult periods and feeling like they have no one they can talk to. As someone who lacked this outlet as a teenager, I understood the value of providing unconditional, compassionate care. In my practice now, I remain committed to bringing a humanizing perspective to the therapeutic relationship, grounded in the belief that we all share similar emotions and life experiences, in order to ensure patients feel seen, understood, and supported in every session. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors and staying active through sports like soccer, tennis, wake surfing, skiing (downhill and cross-country), running marathons, yoga, and other workouts; as well as by hiking, taking long walks, and being near the beach or mountains. I also enjoy reading self-help books, watching psychological thrillers and rom-coms, listening to music, cooking healthy meals, and spending meaningful time with friends — staying present and unplugged from phones whenever possible.
I am dedicated to providing a safe, empathetic space that encourages vulnerable expression. Together, we can unpack your history and develop a better understanding of your life, which sets the foundation for growth and transformation. Are you feeling lost, stuck, confused, unmotivated, or inhibited in some way? Do you have difficulty coping with stress, anxiety, or negative thoughts? Do you want to explore your past, inner world, and relationship patterns? You may want to change your life, but you're not sure how or what to change. Perhaps you feel like you're not living in alignment with who you really are, or that there's something blocking you from reaching your potential. You may have trouble managing your emotions, thoughts, or relationships. You may want a place to unpack your history and develop a better understanding of yourself. If you relate to any of the feelings above, I can help. When we begin work together, we are going on a journey to discover more about what you already know, and what may be hidden beneath the surface. My practice is a space to explore your whole self: thoughts, emotions, desires, past & present, love & hatred, happiness & pain... With this new awareness, you can begin to change.
With more than six years of experience as a psychotherapist, I specialize in psychodynamic therapy, helping you explore how your past and present experiences shape your thoughts, feelings, and relationships. Whether you're navigating anxiety, ADHD, mood disorders, OCD, or a significant life transition, my goal is to work alongside you in a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where real growth is possible. My practice welcomes adolescents, young adults, and adults alike. Authenticity is at the heart of everything I do. Meaningful therapy begins with a genuine human connection, and I strive to create an environment where you feel safe being fully yourself, without judgment or pretense. By showing up with honesty, curiosity, and openness, I aim to build a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, collaboration, and real understanding. Therapy with me is a conversation, not a cold process. At the core of my approach is a strong, genuine therapeutic alliance because I believe that kind of connection is what makes meaningful change possible. When we work together, I listen carefully to both your words and what lies beneath them, helping you uncover clarity and strength you may not have known was there. For exploring how your past and present connect, I draw on psychodynamic therapy. To give you practical tools for managing anxiety, ADHD, and mood-related challenges, I weave in techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). When OCD is part of the picture, I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help you build distress tolerance and find relief from the cycle of obsessions and compulsions. This blend of insight-oriented exploration and evidence-based tools is designed to support change that lasts. A desire to help others has been part of who I am for as long as I can remember. As I moved into young adulthood, that impulse deepened into genuine fascination with the science and philosophy of the mind. Social psychology captivated me, particularly the landmark experiments of Stanley Milgram, and I found myself drawn to the rich landscape of therapeutic orientations, from psychoanalytic frameworks and humanistic psychology to attachment theory and beyond. That curiosity translated into action through internships and professional experiences that shaped me as a clinician. I gained hands-on skills working with adolescents and adults within the child welfare system and in crisis intervention settings. Providing care to patients across a broad range of cultural backgrounds has profoundly enriched my perspective and deepened my commitment to meeting each person with the attentiveness and respect they deserve. Outside of the therapy room, you'll find me at the gym, training in Muay Thai, or exploring a new restaurant. I also have a longtime love of voice acting and rarely miss a chance to catch a new film. These passions keep me energized and present in my own life, which I believe makes me a better, more grounded presence for you in ours.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, my work is rooted in creating a therapeutic space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, the weight of trauma, cultural or racial identity concerns, life transitions, or relationship challenges, you don't have to face it alone. With a particular passion for supporting BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, my practice is designed to be inclusive and affirming for all patients, and especially meaningful to those who haven't always felt centered in their care. Our work together is genuinely collaborative, because healing happens best when you're an active part of the process. Bridging that gap, together, is what I'm here for. From the moment we begin working together, you can expect a space that is warm, nonjudgmental, and tailored to who you are. No two people carry the same experiences, backgrounds, or goals, and your care shouldn't look like anyone else's. Drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness, my approach is integrative, person-centered, and always collaborative. My style is kind yet purposeful: together we'll work toward recognizing your needs and building the practical tools to meet them. Guiding you toward the support and strategies that help you thrive is what drives every session we share. My path to becoming a therapist began in research. Working as a research coordinator, I found myself consistently drawn to the deeper stories behind the data, and to the real concerns people in our studies were carrying with them. It became clear that being a therapist was the right fit, the place where I could do the most meaningful work. That background in research and community mental health shapes how I practice today. It gave me a unique lens for understanding how large-scale societal and structural forces ripple down and affect individuals in very personal ways, and a commitment to integrative, community-rooted care that I bring to every session. Outside of the therapy room, you'll find me soaking up a Broadway show, getting lost in a good book, or somewhere out in the world on my next travel adventure. Water has always been a source of joy for me, whether that means snorkeling, diving, or simply swimming. Lately, I've been diving into new creative outlets as well, teaching myself embroidery and showing up to Pilates class regularly. They've become my favorite way to reset between sessions and return to the work feeling fully present for you.
