Immediate availability (updated 5/27/2026). I work with individuals who are looking for a space to feel heard, valued, supported, and understood. I approach therapy with warmth, curiosity, openness, and support. My style is rooted in attachment and relational work, meaning we’ll focus on how your relationships, past and present, shape your experiences. Together, we’ll create a space that feels safe, connected, and nourishing, where you can explore painful patterns, build trust, and deepen your sense of self. With over a decade of experience across an array of clinical settings, I’ve worked with individuals and families navigating a wide range of mental health challenges including anxiety, loss and grief, trauma, stress and burnout, attachment wounds, living with or caring for an individual with chronic illness, parenting challenges, and life transitions. My goal is to help you expand your capacity for wholeness, so you can feel more ease, closeness, and connection in your life and relationships. Through attunement, understanding, and genuine care, we’ll work toward helping you feel seen, supported, and empowered. If you'd like to learn more, check out my website!

Welcome! Starting counseling is not easy and by coming here you have taken an important first step. This is meant to be a safe and non-judgmental space. I am a licensed master social worker with a wide variety of life experiences which have given me the opportunity to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. I am continually working to expand my therapeutic knowledge and skills in order to offer clients the right treatment for individual needs. That said I do embrace aspects of “positive psychology”. I like to accentuate what is right with you and not focus only on what is “wrong” with you. I have specialized training in Infant Mental Health, several behavioral therapies (DBT, CBT, ACT, MBCT), Child Parent Psychotherapy, and trauma informed therapies. I lean towards the so called “third wave” cognitive behavioral therapies which include concepts such as acceptance and mindfulness. I have experience treating people with a range of challenges including but not limited to depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, grief and loss, PTSD and trauma. I believe that everyone has the capacity to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life. Sometimes we face challenges and barriers which may seem overwhelming. Therapy can help identify the source of these challenges and how to overcome them. Currently I work with adults and couples, and accept most major insurances.

Hi, I’m Matt. Often, getting started with a trusted therapist can be the most challenging hurdle to overcome. If you are here, then you have already taken your first step. I am proud of you, but more importantly, you should be proud of yourself. No matter where your journey takes you, know that you do not have to walk it alone. My goal is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all people. I also place great importance on developing a mutual sense of trust, as I believe trust is the key to building a healthy therapeutic relationship. I practice using a person-centered approach and an eclectic therapy model tailored to the individual as I believe that therapy needs to fit the individual’s unique needs and experiences. I completed my Master of Social Work degree at the University of Michigan. Through my internships and roles I have had the pleasure to work with many different populations, from children with an ASD diagnosis to at risk youth in residential settings to adults with an Intellectual Disability diagnosis to medically compromised adults, and more. I enjoy working with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, teens and young adults, and anyone else on a journey of self discovery and healing. I look forward to meeting you and walking alongside you in your therapeutic journey. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or if you would like to schedule an appointment. Areas of Interest: • 2SLGBTQIA+ • Sexual Identity • Gender Identity • Anxiety • Depression • Chronic Illness • Terminal Illness • Birth Trauma experienced by Birth Partners • Survivors of Suicide Loss • Life Changes

Clinical Social Work/Therapist
Troy, MI

In my therapy practice, I work with a lot of people who are great at managing some aspects of their lives, but struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, perfectionism and relationship issues. They can be so good at helping others, but never learned how to show up for themselves in the same way! I had my own first experience with therapy when I was in college: it was rigid and uncomfortable and not helpful...so I am intentionally here to offer the opposite experience. You'll find that I am laid back, and have a balance of compassion with sass/swearing. I'll help you understand the root of why things are showing up the way they are for you right now, and provide you the space and tools to shift how you are thinking, feeling, and showing up in your life. For clients who are interested, I also incorporate spiritual (not religious) and energetic tools to help the healing process. Check out my website to learn more!

I believe that every person already has what they need to heal, but sometimes our “okay-ness” gets stuck under layers of self-protection and hurt. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process that involves peeling back the layers that help protect you, to remove what no longer serves you, so you can get to your true authentic self.
