Accepting new clients

I am currently accepting new clients with evening and weekend availability. My practice is rooted in the core assumption that people are doing the best they can at any given moment. I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families who desire change and want to reduce their suffering. My primary focus is helping individuals navigate life transitions related to adjustment to college, relationships, career, and identity. Together, we’ll work toward healing patterns that no longer serve you and develop practical skills for lasting change. I view my clinical work through a trauma-informed lens with a focus on empowering individuals through identifying and utilizing their strengths, resources, and resilience. My specialties include depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, low self-esteem, and family conflict. I spent the first 5 years of my career receiving extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy at McLean Hospital, a leading psychiatric facility affiliated with Harvard Medical School. I believe that all people have the capacity for change and healing. My aim is to work collaboratively with you to bring about insight and personal growth. I look forward to connecting with you!

Do you struggle with anxiety or unwinding most days? Do you feel like your nervous system is on overdrive much of the time, creating sleep problems, an inability to 'relax', or 'not do'? Is this starting to, or has it been, interfering with your physical health, your relationships, your work or school? Do you think you have long standing, or more recent difficult or traumatic life events that seem to occupy too much head space? If so, I invite you to reach out to me. I can help you move through these challenges, so you and your body can unwind these stuck patterns and feel a sense of thriving, not just surviving, in the world. I am both a psychotherapist, with a MSW (Master of Social Work degree) and 20 years of experience, and an energetic bodyworker with 660 clock hours of training in Polarity Therapy. I am a graduate of Bates College (1996) and Smith College School for Social Work (2002). I am also an Access Bars Practitioner, and completed my CS1 certification in Craniosacral Therapy in September of 2022. My specialty is my blended approach to mental health care. I enjoy bringing out of the box thinking and a holistic view to my psychotherapy work, and also blend my psychotherapy skills with bodywork practice and energy work to deepen the work, if you so desire. If you would like a different approach to talk therapy, your emotional and physical concerns and how they can be supported, I'd love to work with you.

Licensed Professional Counselor
Portland, ME

At heart, I am a listener. I love learning about people through their own words: what they experience, what they care about, and what they want out of life. I work with the conviction that everyone deserves to be heard, to feel respected, and to have their needs and wishes taken seriously. I'm a professional clinical counselor, mission-driven to deliver the best care I can for substance use disorders and other mental health issues. I am constantly reading, learning, and thinking about how better to do this work, in the spirit of curiosity.
