As a licensed clinical social worker with more than 15 years experience in the field of social work, I'm committed to helping you grow. While utilizing positive psychology, cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness as a foundation, I work together with my clients to help them reach a higher version of themselves. Much of our suffering and distress comes from our relationships. When we focus on compassion for self and others, life becomes more meaningful and fulfilling.

I have 20 years of working with clients on anxiety, burnout, and overwhelm. I love building new wellness practices that are accessible and sustainable -- identifying challenges, utilizing coping skills, and creating easy self-care practices for your day. It's wonderful to see clients shift from having distress at their symptoms to feeling confident about their ability to handle what life throws at them. After 20 years of working and learning, I utilize a wide range of approaches -- the classic Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to reframe unhelpful thoughts, somatic practices like yoga, Emotional Freedom Technique, and mindfulness and breath work to help settle the body, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to get to know with caring and curiosity what is behind the triggers and automatic responses. My pronouns are she/her, and I strive to incorporate a feminist and anti-racist perspective into my work.

Hi! I’m Mixi, a bilingual licensed therapist. I understand the impact intrusive thoughts, constant worry and repetitive behaviors have on your well-being and daily life. I have had the opportunity to provide care in private practice, school, and medical settings. This array of experiences has fostered my ability to understand clients through a multi-disciplinary lens. My clinical approach to therapy is grounded in ERP, PE, ACT and CBT. Most of the clients that I work with are navigating OCD, anxiety, trauma, stress, and/or depression. I am a trained OCD specialist and a member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF). I am dedicated to welcoming adults of all identities. I prioritize learning about my clients to create an inclusive environment that best supports them. My goal is to teach you the skills and tools to make you your own therapist over time. I am licensed to provide Telehealth therapy services to clients in Massachusetts, Washington, Illinois, District of Columbia, and Virginia. Our group psychotherapy practice offers help with anxiety, depression, relationships, sleep (including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia), eating disorders, body image, grief, addiction, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Our clients tend to be people who are successful in many ways and feel overwhelmed, lost, alone, or in need of some self-esteem building. We particularly love working with college students because by nature they are figuring out who they are and want to be, and the work we do together can be such an important and exciting part of that process. We welcome people from all backgrounds and are LGBTQ+-affirming. Please feel free to reach out - we would love to get to know you!
I am a New York State licensed Psychotherapist experienced in working with a broad range of issues including depression, anxiety, loss and grief, LGBTQIA+ issues, family and relationship struggles, identity, complex life transitions, and trauma ranging from the personal to systemic. I am a graduate of Hunter College’s Silberman School of Social Work and completed training in working with Couples and Families through the Ackerman Institute for the Family and advanced post graduate training in Relational Therapy at the Stephen A. Mitchell Center for Relational Studies. I bring warmth, deep listening, honesty, cultural sensitivity and humility, and a spirit of collaboration, authenticity, and humor to my therapeutic work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I have worked extensively with adolescents and emergent adults and understand that these junctures typically involve a great deal of growth and change. This can in turn be exciting and wonderful, and also sometimes disorienting and overwhelming. I approach therapy as a collaborative exploration of an individual's lived experiences, the meanings they make out of these experiences, and the relationships they cultivate with self and others in the context of these experiences and meaning-making. In therapy together we slow these conscious and lesser conscious processes down to better understand what might be happening, where people may be stuck in self-limiting narratives or patterns, where resilience, joy, and strength can be recognized, and where growth and change are possible.
I'm passionate about working with college students who are finding life to be overwhelming and exhausting. Maybe you're heartbroken over loss, burdened with guilt, feeling you'll never be good enough, are scared, or at wits' end. Or maybe something happened to you, and it sticks with you giving you no rest. When we feel this way, we tend to isolate, berate ourselves, and spiral in our thinking or distract ourselves from these debilitating feelings. You're not alone. These feelings and responses are common, and there are evidence-based treatments to help you make sense of your concerns, take good care of yourself, and take your next steps. My main approach is cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) while also building a warm, therapeutic relationship. I'm also trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma. That said, therapy is collaborative. You are the expert on yourself, and I will work with you to find the approach that best suits you. My goal is to help you not only feel better but to grow in ways that make a healthier life both possible and sustainable. Many people feel hesitant about starting therapy. Growth can be a challenging road—I hope to meet you on that road, and help with your journey.
