Therapists for college students near Cambridge, MA
Hello! I'm glad you're here. I know how hard it can be to ask for help and start something new. I firmly believe your experience is unique and your treatment should be, too. Therapy is not only for navigating challenging experiences and feelings, but for celebrating growth and change. My clients learn about themselves in meaningful ways depending on what works best for them as we collaborate on their goals. It's an honor for me to guide clients in their therapeutic work, and my personal approach is authentic and empathetic while being down-to-earth and personable.
Welcome! I’m currently accepting new clients for in person and virtual sessions. I commend you for taking this important first step toward improved well-being. I work with individuals impacted by anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. My goal is to provide a supportive and collaborative space where you can explore your experiences, manage symptoms, strengthen coping skills, and foster personal growth. We will work together to develop personalized goals for treatment that highlight your strengths as a catalyst for growth and change. I utilize solution-focused and client-centered approaches as well as CBT and mindfulness. I believe that you are the expert of your life, and with thoughtful exploration, change and growth are possible.
I’m a psychologist licensed in both Massachusetts and Kansas who spent 5 years working in college mental health. My approach to therapy begins with the idea that all people have an inborn drive to grow and make continuous progress in their lives. But, difficult life circumstances often interfere with our natural capacity for growth. Negotiating life transitions, having relationship problems, and managing overwhelming responsibilities can make it hard to feel like our true selves. I strive to provide a warm and reflective space where you can take a break from the chaos of everyday life, observe your experiences and emotions, and reconnect with your core values. I am also an analytical thinker who can help you identify and understand different patterns in your life, both ones that can help you grow, and ones that have been getting in your way. I do my best work with people who feel misunderstood in their lives. If you frequently feel out of place because of who you are, or if you often find yourself being the only person "like you" in any given situation, I’d like to work with you. Through our collaboration, I hope to provide an experience that can help you transform your feelings into a productive creativity that you can carry with you for the rest of your life. If you think that I might be able to help you, please contact me so that we can talk and find out together whether my approach is a good fit for you. Unfortunately, because I am a staff psychologist at KU, I am unable to see students from KU at my private practice for therapy or testing.
Life can feel difficult to navigate at times, most certainly when you are feeling stressed, anxious, overwhelmed with school, or having difficulty maintaining relationships. Maybe you’re feeling like a second priority in your life. I know how challenging it can be to get through those days. Sometimes it feels impossible to handle life’s stressors and achieve that feeling of empowerment. Together, we can learn how to navigate the challenges life brings us. I will provide a safe, empathetic, and supportive atmosphere where you can explore your feelings and find solutions that work best for you. My goal is to develop a trusting relationship with you – a relationship that allows you to feel validated and challenged. I look forward to supporting you throughout your journey! Please email for availability:)
I help people understand themselves with profound depth, not just with symptom management. If you're ready to look at patterns, relationships, and what keeps you stuck, this work is for you. Can you dream of a life no longer haunted by your past? Are you feeling limited in your relationships? Contemporary psychoanalysis offers a unique space to understand not only what has happened to you, but how your history continues to shape your inner world, often outside of conscious awareness. I help people understand themselves with profound depth; not just with symptom management. If you're ready to look at patterns, relationships, and what keeps you painfully stuck, this work is for you. Therapy is an emancipatory undertaking: the aim is not to help you become better adjusted to what has constrained you, but to help you become less beholden to it in the long run. I bring warmth, candor, and sustained attention to the room. My specialties include contemporary dream interpretation; dissociation; depression; and trauma, in all its forms.
I enjoy working with individuals who want to make positive changes in their own lives and relationships. I have experience treating people struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, relationship issues, adjustment issues, women's issues. As a former college athlete, I am also interested in treating the mental health issues of current and former athletes of all ages. I see my clients as individuals who are seeking guidance on how to find more peace and joy in their lives. My goal is to provide a safe space and develop a trusting bond with my clients so they feel comfortable sharing their stories. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and a Strengths-Based perspective to help clients overcome the issues they are struggling with. My primary focus is on self-care, utilizing healthy coping skills, and improving overall health and wellness. My clients have stated that I am a very kind, caring, compassionate therapist who is calming and easy to talk to. My practice is client-centered, and treatment is based on the individual needs of each client. I am currently seeing clients in person or via Telehealth. Please feel free to call or email me to schedule an appointment. I look forward to hearing from you!
