Are you feeling stuck in a certain pattern of thoughts or behaviors that you find worrisome or troubling? Perhaps you are feeling overwhelmed in your life and are beginning to wonder if you may benefit from some additional support. I have worked and trained in a variety of mental health settings including residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, medical hospitals and college campuses. I have experience treating young adults and adults struggling with disordered eating, chronic disease or illness, anxiety, trauma, depression, substance misuse, difficult relationships and career/school related stress. I believe the relationship you build with your therapist is of the utmost importance. My style is supportive, direct and interactive. Together we can come up with new ways of coping to manage the stress in your life. I welcome the opportunity to work with people of all gender identities and all body shapes and sizes. Please note the best way to get in touch with me is via email.
My practice is: Queer- and Trans-affirming, Neurodiversity affirming, sex positive, Kink-affirming, and Poly/Non-Monogamy-affirming. I work with individuals and relationships. I like to establish up front that I am a safe person to correct, call-out, interrupt, disagree and argue with. It will not impact our therapeutic relationship. You are the expert of your own life. (If minor is included.) I work with all ages IF conjointly working with the whole system, otherwise I mainly work with adults.
I’m so glad you're here! If masking, people-pleasing, code-switching, avoiding, isolating (and everything in between) has been your way of managing your anxiety, here is a space where we create a calm place for you to be your authentic self. Come with quirks, emotions, humor, cursing, and even your crafts, this is your space. All that in stride, I understand that the path to finding your true self can be complex and sometimes daunting. But rest assured, you don’t have to do it alone. Here, therapy is not just about addressing issues; it's about celebrating who you are and who you’re becoming. So bring every part of you into the room. I’m here to listen, understand, and help you thrive.

Are you looking for support navigating the transitions related to college life? I have over 10 years of experience working with young adults to navigate the ups and downs that come from life transitions and mental health challenges. I work with young people to build confidence and skills to be the best version of themselves. I believe in building strong relationships and being authentic in therapy. Life is hard, but it doesn't have to feel impossible!
In addition to eclectic psychotherapy, I provide Internal Family Systems work and a variety of psychodramatic and hypnotic methods in my practice. I have worked with individuals, couples and families for over 4 decades. My belief is that people are complicated and do not fit into simplistic, diagnostic categories. My experience informs me when a therapist (or teacher) believes in your basic goodness and capabilities, you can do more than you ever thought you could.. The initial interview is of the therapist at no charge. Most insurances are accepted. Appointments are limited but available at this time.
Hello and Welcome! My focus is in treating graduate students. I strive to create a safe, collaborative environment for the exploration of self and relationships, stress management strategies, multicultural issues, adjustment to the university environment, as well as the healing of past traumas and family of origin struggles. I have been in university counseling since 2004. I use a combination of psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral techniques, Internal Family Systems approaches, as well as mind-body stress reduction.
Having worked in a variety of mental health settings and most particularly through my work at academic Boston-area hospitals, I have developed both an affection for and an expertise in working with people in their 20's. It is such a time of change, choices, transitions and adjustments. Finding a way to ground ourselves and connect with our own instincts can make all the difference in the journey through adult life.
Entering into therapy can feel overwhelming and vulnerable. My initial goals are always to understand what brings you into therapy, give you a sense of how I practice, and talk together about whether I am a good fit for you. I encourage an ongoing and open conversation about our treatment relationship and progress towards your goals. I practice from the fundamental belief that healing can occur in an attuned, compassionate relationship marked by curiosity. Clients describe me as interactive, collaborative, warm, and nonjudgemental. My practice is heavily influenced by mindfulness-based approaches. It is a privilege to support clients in making sense of the challenges they are facing, enhance their comfort with riding waves of strong feeling, and to respond to their thoughts and feelings in a more compassionate way.

Hi, thanks so much for taking an interest in my practice. It takes great courage and awareness to come to the decision to reach out for support. I see clients in my office in Cambridge, MA, near Davis Square, and in Melrose, MA, as well as by teletherapy/videochat. I specialize in helping people to free themselves from the 'silent conversation' that we have with ourselves throughout the day. By understanding how this conversation influences our thoughts, feelings, and actions, it is possible to adapt it to feel more empowered in life. It is my hope that your therapy experience will feel comforting, meaningful, real, and effective in getting to the heart of your core concerns. I work from an integrative framework in a warm and interactive environment, drawing from holistic, cognitive, and psychodynamic influences to help people to reclaim a sense of choice and authorship in their lives. My background includes more than 25 years in clinical healthcare, school, and community settings working therapeutically with individuals, couples, and groups on a wide-range of issues causing acute and chronic distress. You've faced so many challenges, and trauma has a knack for taking over everything. Maybe you try to keep busy to escape from it all, but most of the time, it's all-consuming. Your work or studies suffer, because you can’t concentrate. Your relationships are affected as well. It can be hard for others who haven't experienced similar struggles to truly understand you and what’s happening for you. Even for you, finding the right words to articulate it all can be tough. This makes connecting with others a bit more challenging. But trauma doesn't have to be your whole story. It doesn't have to consume your days, thoughts, relationships, and work. Even the trauma that stems from marginalization and oppression doesn't have to define you. Therapy can be where you separate out what has happened to you, from who you are and want to be. It can provide a space to discover peace, clarity, and even moments of joy amidst life's challenges. My passion lies in supporting survivors of interpersonal trauma, particularly those who have experienced child abuse, as well as individuals who face the daily impact of systemic oppression, including BIPOC, LGBTQAI+ individuals, and those who and those who navigate the complex intersections of marginalization. As a biracial Asian and White woman, I daily I navigate the hurtful impacts of racism and sexism in our world. Being multiracial allows me to see the world from different angles, and I appreciate both the difficulties and advantages it brings. I am 3rd-generation Chinese. I carry within me a deeply personal understanding of the burdens of generational trauma and the stress of acculturation within my family. However, I am aware that my experiences are limited to my own point of view and I don't assume to fully grasp how similar experiences have affected others. I approach everyone I meet, regardless of our similarities, with humility.
Do you ever just want someone to talk to who is not judgmental, and will offer sound advice for no other reason than wanting you to feel better? My sole job is to help you feel heard, understood and supported in whatever area in which you are struggling. I have helped people for over 25 years make their way to a more stable and healthier spot in life. Whether you are struggling with OCD, stress, depression, trauma or just not quite feeling settled, set up a time to talk.
