I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient facilities, supporting both individual clients and their families. I have worked with individuals who are managing ADHD, Autism, PTSD, OCD, symptoms of depression, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, transition of life, academic needs, relationship challenges and changes, and managing stressors throughout life and more. My goal as a therapist is to help you work through your issues, address your inner needs, and achieve your goals. I help you focus on what is most important to you by providing you a safe space to explore, express and examine the areas of your life that have been causing you stress or discomfort. In my free time, I enjoy playing tabletop board games, traveling, reading mystery and true crime thrillers, and spending time with my family and my dogs. You can text, email or call me. You can contact me at 317-731-2257. I will be taking new clients at the start of the year. I am in transition from a group practice to a solo practice!

It allows me to run a sustainable business that promotes the highest possible quality evaluation services for all children, youth, and adults, as well as supporting my wellness as a mental health professional to ensure I show up from a space of curiosity, authenticity, and active engagement. It additionally allows me to offer reduced fee evaluations and partner with other agencies to provide some pro bono evaluations each year. The range for completion of a comprehensive evaluation was determined with the understanding that many individuals/families will pay the base level fee, and I am aware that the overall cost may impact whether individuals can pay the full cost/full fee for completion of evaluation services. If you/your loved one is in need of a reduced fee evaluation, please let me know. If I am not able to accommodate this need, I will do my best to identify providers who may be able to do so. The evaluation process includes time spent in direct contact with individuals and/or caregivers via clinical interviews and caregiver interviews for children and adolescents, face-to-face testing, scoring and interpreting assessment data, reviewing records, completing collateral calls with providers or support persons (if/as appropriate and with a release of information), writing the evaluation report, and providing feedback. Full Fee for 2024: $2300 to $2500 (Full Fee for 2025 will be $2400 to $2600)** At this fee, you are supporting and uplifting others, and helping me run a sustainable business that promotes the highest possible quality evaluation services for all individuals. This also allows me to offer reduced fee evaluations and partner with other agencies to provide some pro bono evaluations each year in an effort to promote equitable access to evaluation services. *I commit to completing reduced fee or pro bono evaluations that are equal to at least 10% of business profits for the year. The total percentage may vary year to year based on the ebb and flow of business profits and costs associated with maintaining the practice. Middle Fee for 2024: $2100 to $2200 (Middle Fee for 2025 will be $2200 to $2300)** At this level, you are helping me run a sustainable business that promotes the highest possible quality assessment services for all individuals, including you/your loved one. Base Fee: $1900 to $2000 (Base Fee for 2025 will be $2000 to $2100)** At this level, you are paying for highest possible quality assessment services for you/your loved one. My name is Elizabeth Askren, but most people that know me call me Beth. I'm a licensed mental health counselor, and I see clients in a private practice setting. My practice is Core Counseling & Wellness. I am trained and licensed as a mental health counselor, and I feel especially passionate about working with adults who struggle with anxiety, codependency, perfectionism, and those who have been called “overachievers”. I work with people to recover from emotional abuse, trauma, and neglect from both developmental or adult relationships, amd who struggle with self-worth and self-doubt, to those seeking to overcome developmental trauma, and who find themselves struggling with adult insecure attachment and toxic relationship patterns. Clients work with me to explore and heal the issues at the core of these struggles, and learn to regulate and process emotions and tolerate distress that can often make day to day life feel unbearable at times. Developing boundaries and finding validation and security from within are a part of this process. Along the way, I help clients identify and replace behaviors that are no longer serving them and are problematic in their current life. I assist clients in developIng new skills allowing them to shift towards living authentically, finding fulfillment, finding themselves, and ultimately finding joy. I see clients come out the other side with greater self-worth, grounded by confidence in themselves, discovering new opportunities while creating a fulfilling life in which they can thrive. Good therapy starts with genuine compassion and acceptance. These are core values of both my practice & my life. I love being a therapist. Genuinely, I really really love it. The work I do with clients is inspired by the deep work I've done myself. I show up to every session with an understanding of how it can feel to sit in my client's chair. If invited, I'd be honored to discuss working together. Contact me if you would like to setup time for a phone chat to explore this. I primarily work with clients in-person in my Broad Ripple office, but can take advantage of virtual appointments when clinically appropriate and necessary. Payment for services is due at the time of service. I am not “in-network” with any insurance plans, and am considered an “out-of-network” provider (or self-pay). While I am happy to offer some information and guidance to clients who have insurance plans that include out-of-network benefits, I do not bill insurance or submit claims, and can not guarantee reimbursement or coverage for services. Please contact your plan to identify if your plan includes out-of-network coverage, and if so what the reimbursement and limitations to coverage may be. I accept HSA & FSA payments, credit cards, checks, or cash.

My approach to therapy comes from a space of empathy, compassion, and absolutely zero judgement. My goal for every individual is to help them experience a positive change. I utilize a strengths based approach to encourage my clients to tap into their own strengths and resources while also meeting them where they are at in their personal therapeutic journey. I became interested in therapy due to my own personal struggles with addiction and with 11 years of sobriety, I hope to help others. My goal is for my clients to get something out of the work we do together and for it to be worthwhile and beneficial for them. I work alongside my clients to help them reach their goals while appreciating and celebrating their strengths. I have a laid back approach which includes colorful language, an odd sense of humor, and finding a balance to push you outside of your comfort zone to accomplish your goals. I hope to create a safe space for my clients to be themselves and for me to help them process life's tough challenges and celebrate the victories.
