Therapists for college students near UCLA
Axis Mundi Center for Mental Health is a not-for-profit 501c3 charitable endeavor that provides affordable therapy and counseling services while seeking to address the growing and dire need for multi-culturally competent clinicians. Axis Mundi Center for Mental Health believes that authenticity is a big part of getting therapy right. We also know that one of the best indicators of therapy success is the rightness of fit between the therapist and the client! That means it's vital for you to have a sense of who we are, and that old models of "invisibility" in a therapist aren't going to contribute to you making a good choice. Our clinicians get that and identify themselves in ways that are personal, genuine, and still respectful and committed to all of the ways that therapy is all about YOU. We are a part of a growing trend in mental health services that acknowledges and seeks to address the need for therapists and counselors who are culturally humble. We are devoted to developing that awareness and skill-set, and are a diverse and growing group of practitioners who offer a variety of approaches to mental wellness…Traditional treatment like CBT and psychodynamic psychotherapy, holistic and somatic therapy methods, indigenous approaches, and spiritual perspectives are all offered. We work on a sliding scale from $30 and up depending on the practitioner. The initial consultation with our intake coordinator is free! We’re here to change and challenge what therapy has meant and who it’s been accessible to. Our group of licensed and pre-licensed clinicians have a varying range of expertise and styles. We invite you to visit our website or reach out for an intake to find folks who feel like a good fit!

Developmental trauma (experiences as we grow, including our family of origin) shapes how we see the world, sometimes unsafe and challenging to navigate. Our attachments are the foundations in which we trust or find conflict. Developmental trauma may manifest in the body as anxiety, stress, distress, relationship difficulties, depression and more. There is healing to be found here, to be understood and nourished. Well done on the first step in a journey toward wellness. The most important aspect of therapy is finding a person who makes you feel safe and heard. I look forward to collaborating. I have training and experience in working with trauma, family of origin/generational cycles, attachment disruptions, complicated grief and loss, sexuality, sex work and with LGBTQAI+ persons. I love working through emotions, trauma and somatic experiencing. I am Level I Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy trained. I enjoy working with and understanding folx from their perspective; I work with singles, couples, non-monogamous consensual relationships and families. I provide a safe, unassuming space in which you can find felt safety. I appreciate the eclectic person you are and would like to help you identify your own cracks, so that you can let your own light in. If you’re a student feeling overwhelmed by balancing academics, relationships, family expectations, and figuring out who you are, you’re not alone. I work with students who tend to keep it all together on the outside but feel anxious, stuck, or burnt out inside. You might be a deep feeler or an overthinker, someone who struggles with saying “no” or feels the weight of trying to please everyone. Maybe you’re navigating cultural or family expectations that clash with what you want for yourself. In our work together, we’ll slow down and create space for you to explore what you’re feeling in your mind and body. I’ll help you build tools to manage stress, set healthy boundaries, and feel more at ease in your own skin—without judgment or pressure. My approach is gentle, supportive, and focused on helping you connect with your values so you can make choices that feel right for you.

If you’re feeling tired of patterns that no longer serve you and ready to face what’s been holding you back, you’re not alone. Many people reach a point where they want more than survival—they want clarity, peace, rest, and a healthier relationship with themselves/equipped to thrive in relationships with others. Therapy can be a space to move forward mindfully, let go of unhelpful coping strategies, and begin building a life that feels more aligned, balanced, and authentic. Therapy can also be a space where your faith based values can be honored to enrich your experience. I support women & teen girls navigating ADHD, body image concerns, anxiety, depression, and disordered eating—areas that often overlap more than people realize. Sessions are holistic (seeing you as a whole person), thoughtful and collaborative, focused on understanding root patterns while building insight, self-compassion, and practical tools for change. Reaching out for support takes courage, and you don’t have to do it alone. If what you’ve read resonates, I invite you to schedule a free 20-minute consultation through my website. This is a chance to connect, ask questions, and see if working together feels like the right next step.

Welcome to my practice! We all face challenges in our lives. With those challenges come opportunities to choose how we respond. Some of the difficulties we face include adapting to a new school, job, or relationship, making new friends, and finding meaning in one's life. Other challenges are unique to the individual like discrimination, identity concerns, or trauma. I create a safe space for clients where I am present, genuine, and empathetic. Central to my approach is learning about my clients in a nonjudgmental, affirming way. I help clients develop a deeper understanding of how their past and current experiences influence their thoughts and reactions. The therapeutic interventions I use help clients develop skills to meet their challenges. Therapy is a collaboration that leads to enhanced self-awareness and effective problem-solving. With increased understanding, skills, support, and resources, we have more freedom to effectively cope in ways that are consistent with our values. Freedom means we are not repeating previous maladaptive patterns, allowing us to live the life we want, experiencing greater fulfillment and happiness.

Hi, I’m Samantha (she/her). I’m a mixed-race, queer therapist providing down-to-earth, individual, virtual therapy to teens & young adults. I support young people as they process trauma, move through life’s challenges, & shape lives that feel authentic & joyful to themselves. These years can be overwhelming, complex, & full of questions around identity, relationships, & how to feel safe in your own skin. I am here to be an ally through it all. I am particularly passionate about working with immigrants, queer, trans, & gender-expansive communities, & folks facing the impacts of trauma & systemic violence. My style is warm, thoughtful, and nonpathologizing – I believe healing occurs within a larger social context. If you think we'd be a good fit, email or call me to schedule a free 15 minute consultation call! I look forward to connecting with you. Currently practicing under supervision of Rayne Banneck, LMFT #124607 through Axis Mundi Center for Mental Health in California.

I'm a trauma specialist with a focus on neurodiversity, particularly autism, ADHD, and highly sensitive people. As a neurodivergent therapist myself, I'm familiar with the challenges that come with being different. Many people, including well-intentioned therapists, don't fully grasp the intricacies of neurodivergent experiences, leaving us feeling misunderstood and unsupported. That's why I provide therapy that's tailored to you. I believe in incorporating your values, preferences, and special interests into our sessions. By doing so, we can address your specific goals and challenges in a way that aligns with your inherent strengths and learning style. Whether you want to work through your past, discover your true self, or find new tools to more effectively manage your daily life, I'm here to support you. Let's work towards creating a more meaningful and fulfilling life, one step at a time. I can’t wait to meet you.
As a queer-identifying clinician, I bring a compassionate, affirming, and inclusive approach to therapy, honoring the diverse identities and lived experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community and beyond. I am deeply committed to building genuine rapport and trust, creating a therapeutic space where clients feel fully seen, supported, and valued in their authentic selves. My practice is grounded in LGBTQ+ and neurodiversity-affirming principles, informed by my B.A. in Women’s Studies and its emphasis on social justice, intersectionality, and feminist frameworks. My graduate training in Depth Psychology has enriched my understanding of the unconscious forces that shape our inner and relational worlds. From a psychodynamic perspective, I work collaboratively with clients to explore the patterns, motivations, and early trauma that influences their emotional lives and relationships. In addition to psychodynamic work, I integrate Family Systems theory and Internal Family Systems (IFS) modalities, approaches that support clients in navigating internal conflicts and relational dynamics with clarity, compassion, and self-leadership. My skills in attunement, active listening, and culturally competent, curious counseling allow me to adapt to each client’s unique needs and strengths. Whether you are seeking support for LGBTQ+ and/or neurodivergent identity exploration, relationship concerns, trauma healing, or personal growth, I strive to offer a therapeutic relationship rooted in empathy, curiosity, and collaboration; one that fosters healing, resilience, and empowerment. If you’re curious about working together, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. It’s a chance for us to connect and see if we’re a good fit.
I am a cancer survivor, an active duty military spouse, and a child of grief after losing my father at a young age to addiction. Building resilience and fostering hope is not just something that I practice professionally, I have lived it. These experiences combined with my clinical background have given me a unique perspective on healing. I value the realness of showing up as yourself in and out of the therapy room. When I am not wearing my therapist “hat” you can find me at the movies, cuddled up on the couch with my two fur babies, or in the kitchen. I am a serious foodie, dog mama, bookworm, Bravo-binge-watcher, coffee fiend, and yes….I am a millennial. I love to paint, listen to 90s country, decorate for the holidays, and travel (when I can!).
