I have experience in working with depression, anxiety, life transitions, and school stress. I spent more than two years working at Cornell's Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), which provided me with deep knowledge of the ins and outs of their mental health system, along with the pressures that one can face at college in regard to competition, academic stress, and building social connection. Being from upstate NY, I also understand some of the isolative parts of the experience, and adjustment to the uniqueness of the region. I am grateful to have a chance to share this experience and apply it to the therapy space. I gather inspiration from a variety of backgrounds and techniques, and use an eclectic style in therapy. It is extremely important that there is a safe space to explore thoughts and feelings. I have found that individuals have a great deal of success when we work on the relationship between their thoughts and emotions. I encourage you to reach out if you want to talk more about the specifics of what therapy could look like, and to have a conversation about how to improve your life and reach your goals.

I center my work on supporting LGBTQIA+ students navigating identity concerns related to gender and race. Using DBT, ERP, and solution-focused approaches, I also help with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and life transitions. My goal is to offer a warm, affirming space where you can bring your full self, build insight, and move toward meaningful change. Hello and Welcome! My name is Daniel Reed and I am a first-generation college graduate and clinical psychologist. I take an integrative, holistic approach to therapy, blending cognitive-behavioral, relational, and psychodynamic methods to fit your unique background and goals. Together, we’ll explore how your daily life is shaped by your cognitive, emotional, and relational patterns, while honoring your intersectional identity and lived experiences. I specialize in supporting university students and young adults navigating identity formation, LGBTQ+ experiences, trauma, neurodiversity, interpersonal concerns, anxiety, and depression. Progress starts with a great fit. As an active and collaborative therapist, I don’t just passively listen—I engage with you in real time, offering feedback, observations, and insights to help you build self-awareness and create meaningful change. Licensed Psychologist in CA & IL. *Please note: I am unable to see actively enrolled Santa Clara University students for therapy services due to a conflict of interest, as I also work at Santa Clara University's Counseling and Psychological Services. I am however, able to provide therapy services for former SCU students and alumni.
I conduct psychoeducational evaluations to assess children and adults for Learning Disabilities including Dyslexia, Attention/ADHD, Executive Functioning, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Giftedness, Depression, Anxiety, and other educationally relevant mental health concerns. Comprehensive evaluations may include assessing a student's cognitive functioning, processing abilities, academic achievement, social/emotional functioning, and/or adaptive behavior. Psychoeducational evaluations for adults are conducted on those who may need support within higher education, in the workplace or to seek employment, and with high-stakes professional exams. Comprehensive evaluations allow us to identify needs and areas of concern, as well as highlight areas of strength. They allow us to best determine a student's learning profile and what supports they may need to access their education, which is why assessment is a crucial first step. Please reach out for your assessment and consultation needs.
If you are feeling stressed, self critical, impatient, down or worried, I would like to help you feel more confident, calm, in control, and engaged in your life. My approach to counseling is to create a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore and overcome obstacles in order to heal, grow, and reach their full potential. With patience and understanding, I’ll assist you in finding solutions, and building strength and resiliency. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and together we will set meaningful goals based on what you want to change or improve about yourself, your life, or your relationships.
Do you wonder whether your experience may be neurodivergent or related to ADHD or autism? Do you want to better understand your mental and emotional experience? I specialize in comprehensive psychological evaluations for adults seeking clarity around ADHD, autism, and other mental health or neurodivergence-related questions. Evaluations may include ADHD diagnostic evaluations (including Telehealth ADHD diagnostic evaluations), autism assessment, cognitive testing, and broader mental health diagnostic evaluations. Comprehensive assessments provide diagnostic clarification and clinical recommendations. Each evaluation is conducted by a licensed psychologist specializing in adult psychological testing and differential diagnosis. Each evaluation includes an intake, testing, scoring, a written report, feedback, and recommendations when applicable. Evaluations may be completed via telehealth, hybrid format (telehealth combined with in-person testing), or fully in-person, depending on evaluation type and clinical needs. Telehealth ADHD diagnostic evaluations are available. I serve adults throughout Southern California, including Los Angeles, Long Beach, Torrance, and the South Bay. Cognitive testing and some other assessments are conducted in-person only. Please contact me with any questions about evaluation format or recommendations. My goal is to help you better understand yourself and your experiences. Evaluations use a strength-based, neurodiversity-affirming approach tailored to each individual. Evaluations are designed to be thorough, collaborative, and respectful of each individual’s lived experience. Fees vary by evaluation type and clinical complexity. Fee ranges are listed on my website (axeltesting.com). Telehealth services are available for adults throughout CA. My practice focuses specifically on adult diagnostic evaluation rather than ongoing therapy. You don't need to be certain about pursuing an evaluation to reach out. I am happy to answer questions and help you explore options. Contact me for a free consultation or questions.
My goal is to help you develop healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and relating. My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practice. I draw from interpersonal, cognitive-behavioral, and acceptance and commitment therapy approaches to create a space that feels safe, compassionate, and tailored to you. Together, we’ll work to understand your experiences, develop new coping strategies, strengthen your resilience, and help you move toward the life you want. I believe therapy works best when it’s a partnership—one where you feel seen, heard, and empowered.
Hello! I love working with college students and young adults. I am located within walking distance from Chapman University. If you are looking for a therapist with some sass who curses but also knows how to be nurturing, look no further. I consider myself a trauma therapist and I am certified in EMDR and trained in Internal Family Systems at the IFS Institute. I love learning and am often taking new trainings so I can support my clients better. I am very passionate about what I do. Recently, my focus has been on IFS and Polyvagal Theory. IFS is a type of therapy that helps us understand that we have different parts inside of us that conflict with one another at times. It is sort of similar to inner child work although that is a bit reductive. Polyvagal Theory is looking at what is happening in the body, namely the autonomic nervous system. I also really enjoy focusing on attachment and my thesis from when I was in grad school was on attachment.
Living in your body may feel exhausting, unfamiliar, or even unsafe. Trauma, relationship harm, health changes or chronic illness, and struggles with body image and eating can leave us feeling disconnected and stuck between overwhelm and shutdown. I offer a warm, grounded presence where you can feel seen and begin cultivating a deeper sense of self-trust and wholeness - a space to explore lived experiences and learn supportive wellness practices. I work with busy students who are carrying the weight of stress, trauma, and grief while navigating immense transitions and responsibilities. Many of my clients are healing from sexual violence, emotional relationship harm, chronic/invisible illness and health-related changes (migraines, endometriosis, PCOS, POTS, cancer), and concerns around relationship with body and food, including disordered eating. I've supported students and young adults for over a decade, with many years of experience working in a college specialty counseling clinic. I use a mind-body approach that blends somatic (body-based), cognitive, and mindfulness practices including Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT Tapping). This helps us understand ourselves with compassion, cope with emotional overwhelm and physical body discomfort, heal from trauma, and reconnect to relationships and activities that nourish us. I find great joy in serving multicultural and multi-faith communities while providing a weight-inclusive, culturally-affirming, and trauma-informed space where all parts of you are welcome.
Hi I am Ro (they/them). I provide radical care for expansive lives — creating space for healing that honors complexity, identity, and growth. My approach is affirming, trauma-informed, and rooted in curiosity and connection. I integrate Somatic Internal Family Systems, Brainspotting, and other nervous-system–based modalities to support deep, embodied work. I work especially well with clients who live at the intersections — queer, neurodivergent, creative, questioning, or simply ready to do therapy differently. Together, we’ll explore what it means to live more freely, fully, and on your own terms.
