Therapists for college students near Duquesne University
As a therapist, I encourage you to bring the “messiest” parts of yourself into the room during our sessions. I strive to create a safe, yet empowering space for all my clients, especially for those who hold marginalized identities. I let you set the pace of treatment and help you build confidence in your innate abilities to persevere and heal during difficult seasons of life. I also encourage you to provide feedback throughout our time together, so that we can make treatment as impactful and positive as possible. I believe that the most important aspect of our work together involves building a strong therapeutic relationship, so you can also expect a deep interest in you as a person outside of presenting concerns or diagnoses. Feel free to reach out if I sound like a good fit for you and your current needs. Either way, I wish you luck on your healing journey!

My therapeutic approach is informed by my background in meditation, Eastern contemplative philosophy, and evolutionary psychology. I work with clients to establish a treatment plan that is uniquely sensitive to their particular clinical needs and concerns. Some of the most common techniques I employ focus on the important relationship between body and mind; these experiential, somatic, and cognitive interventions allow for critical shifts in perspective that promote meaningful and enduring behavioral change.

In addition to trauma informed practices, I have training in the following areas: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Art and Play Therapy techniques, Mindfulness, Tele-Health Practices, Family Systems and Attachment Theory. I have experience with the following clinical concerns: stress management, depression, anxiety, mood regulation, social anxiety, relationship and family distress, attention and motivation challenges, self-esteem, perfectionism, and grief. I have a particular passion for helping individuals develop healthy boundaries and heal from toxic relationships.
“Of course it is exhausting, having to reason all the time in a universe which wasn't meant to be reasonable.” ― Kurt Vonnegut, Breakfast of Champions Hello! Thank you for taking some time to get to know me. As a social worker and therapist, I'm passionate about helping individuals find their path to well-being. My approach is grounded in a belief that each person is the expert in their own needs and abilities, and it is my role to provide the support needed to apply that knowledge. I have several years of therapy experience with adults and children, in addition to more than a decade working with children and families in other capacities. I’ve worked with clients from diverse backgrounds, facing a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, and relationship and family issues. My therapeutic style is flexible to your specific goals and needs, with elements from CBT, DBT, and Family Systems Theory. Whether you're navigating relationship challenges, major life transitions, trauma, anxiety, or depression, I’m glad you’re here seeking support. Rather than focusing on happiness as a fixed goal, I help clients explore what fulfillment means in the context of their lives. Fulfillment allows space for the full range of emotional experiences supports a more honest, grounded way of engaging with yourself and the world. ClinicalApproach I bring a systems-oriented lens to our work together, considering how our early relationships and life experiences shape our current sense of self, the way we connect with others, and how we move through the world. My integrative approach draws from several evidence-based modalities including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) But above all, I'm client-centered. I've seen what happens when therapy gets too rigid or robotic, when the humanity of it gets lost. That’s not what you’ll get with me. I’ll use evidence-based methods and also meet you with honesty, care, and a good sense of when to push and when to pause.
You’ve done the work. Therapy isn’t new to you—you’ve been there, talked through it, gained awareness. You get why you are the way you are, but despite all of that, you still feel stuck. Like no matter how much you understand your past, something deeper is keeping you in survival mode. Maybe you had to grow up fast. Maybe life didn’t give you much room to just be a kid. You’re great at figuring things out, staying strong, analyzing your feelings—but sometimes, it feels like you’re thinking your way around healing instead of actually feeling it. That’s where I come in. I specialize in EMDR, a therapy that helps you move past what’s keeping you stuck—not just in your mind, but in your body and nervous system, too. If you’ve already explored meditation or mindfulness, even better! That means you already know how to tune in—now, we’ll go deeper. If you’re ready to stop just understanding your past and actually move beyond it, I’m here to help. Let’s do this work together. If you take the wheel on this journey, I'll be in the passenger seat with a compass and a map to be a partner all along the way.

Hi, I’m Tori — a therapist, theatre-maker, sourdough enthusiast, and firm believer that we’re all just doing our best to make sense of being human. My work is for anyone who’s ever thought, “Am I the drama?” — and then realized, maybe, a little. I love working with women, queer folks, and anyone who doesn’t quite fit into the neat boxes the world tends to hand out. My special heart-space is for college-aged and younger women trying to navigate identity, independence, relationships, and the wild, weird in-between of figuring it all out. Before becoming a therapist, I spent years in the theatre — helping people tell their stories, find their voices, and sit in the beautiful chaos of being seen. That same creative spirit is what guides me in therapy. Together, we’ll look at what’s working, what’s not, and gently (or not-so-gently) challenge the stories that keep you stuck. My background is in trauma and crisis work, with training in CBT, narrative therapy, and evidence-based approaches — but the heart of my work is connection. I want you to feel like you can show up as your whole self here — messy, brilliant, funny, heartbroken, healing, or all of the above. When I’m not in session, I’m usually baking bread, playing with my dogs, or daydreaming about planting too many flowers in my (slightly shady) backyard garden. Therapy with me isn’t about being “fixed” — it’s about being found.
