Therapists for college students near Duquesne University
After years in practice I can tell you one thing for certain, everyone has speed bumps in life. Sometimes the issues get bigger when we don’t deal with them. And sometimes we just need help processing so it will stop being on repeat in our mind. It doesn’t have to be so hard. Let’s find the best path forward for you so you can be your best self.
My offer to you something is simple and steady: a space where you do not have to perform, impress, or hold it all together. A space where you can exhale. I am especially drawn to working with people in transition especially college students standing on the edge of adulthood and professionalism. Transitions can shake your confidence. They can stir up old shame, old stories, old fears about not being enough. But they are also sacred turning points. They are invitations. Together, we will slow down and tune in. We will examine the narratives you’ve inherited and gently decide which ones no longer serve you. My hope for you is not that you leave therapy “better," but that you leave more fully yourself. I believe healing happens when someone sits with you long enough for you to remember your own strength. I will meet you with depth, honesty, humor and warmth. I will challenge you when needed, celebrate you when earned, and hold the mirror steady when you forget who you are. You do not have to worry alone. Everyone has a story. I look forward to hearing yours.
I am a versatile, dedicated clinician who is passionate about helping you uncover your true self, and pull back the layers that have gotten in the way. If you are feeling emotionally out-of-control, overwhelmed or plagued by your past, allow me to walk alongside you as we come up with a solution together. I often use an individualized, eclectic approach incorporating concepts from various modalities. I will meet you wherever you are without judgment. Sometimes, we are in need of support, or a nudge in the right direction. It may be hard to know what we need. It would be my honor to help if you can relate to any of the above. My clinical background spans over 16 years and includes work in a variety of inpatient and outpatient mental health settings (teens and adults). At my core, I am a humanistic therapist. Although I am versatile, I do hold certifications in both DBT and trauma-informed care. I'm happy to work with individuals ages 14+, as well as couples. If any of this resonates, please reach out today by phone or email. Our dedicated staff at Seasons of Hope and Healing are happy to assist. I have immediate openings for daytime sessions both virtually (statewide) or in Warren. There is a 2-3 week wait for evening sessions at this time. Providing therapy is truly my passion and I am happy to help!

People are the center of my practice. While I have a wide range of experience and expertise in various techniques, I always take a person-centered approach to therapy. Every individual is unique, and it is important to treat your symptoms, not simply your diagnosis. Sometimes even the most basic and routine challenges of everyday life can seem complex, unpredictable, or even overwhelming. Whether you are suffering from depression, anxiety, grief, or just going through a difficult transition, my goal is to foster a trusting, safe, and confidential environment for you to heal and grow. My philosophy is grounded in self-compassion and connection – that means helping my clients identify their strengths and learn resilience. Together, we can help you navigate life’s struggles and crises, emerging stronger, healthier, and more confident in yourself and your abilities. As a therapist, it is my responsibility to deliver compassionate, safe, and productive therapy that gives people real tools to create sustainable and lasting change in their lives. I believe that people heal most effectively when they feel empowered to regain control of their lives and confidence in themselves. My goal is to help clients create a sense of self-awareness in order to understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

Most of my clients are dealing with some combination of anxiety, depression, relationship stress, or questions about sexuality and gender. Many are coming out of their first big break up or first major loss. I have a particular focus in “men’s” issues, relationships and couples work, and on addressing topics we were never taught to explore — namely sexuality and grief. Some of my clients are deeply religious others are atheists. Some have never dated others are active BDSMers. My style is highly interactive. We’ll work to address faulty beliefs and longstanding BS. Together, we can talk about anything from anxiety to compulsive porn use, from kink to grief. I have a particular focus in “men’s” issues, couples counseling, and grief. I won’t promise you’ll “find happiness.” That would be like trying to sell you keys to your own car. All I promise is to be your teammate. If what you seek is a combination of empathy and strength, a nonjudgmental space, an emphasis on connection over analysis, and a confidant who will not waver then I invite you to book a consultation below.
I know firsthand how powerful and healing therapy can be, as well as how frustrating and painful it sometimes is. I believe therapy is a co-created relationship that enables us to reckon with ourselves, therefore making possible the change we want to see in our lives. My style is human — I’m not a neutral observer or blank slate, I am an engaged, deeply caring person. I share what I think honestly and with humility. My therapeutic approach is integrative. I work primarily from a psychodynamic lens, and am internal family systems-informed. Clients have described me as caring, calm, and “bad at having a poker face.” To that end, I share what I think honestly and with humility. In my practice, I work with individuals who have experienced trauma, relationship issues, and want to work through life transitions, and boundary setting. I help my clients develop tools, communicate more effectively, clarify their needs, unlearn old unhelpful beliefs about themselves, and get unstuck from painful patterns. Together we will look at your past to understand what you’re still hanging onto that you’d like to let go of. I can help you understand links between the past and present, while also helping you develop skills for coping and emotional regulation as you engage in therapy.
Life can be overwhelming at times, in seasons and in stages. The pressure to have a plan and to have it all together is debilitating. I help those struggling with anxiety, self esteem, depression, emotional regulation issues, life transitions and grief. I am dedicated through improving the lives of my clients through the collaborative therapeutic process. Clients will be met with a warm and down to earth therapeutic approach. Clients are able to be themselves in counseling as I hold space for my clients to express themselves in a safe space.
