I believe in the inherent worth of everyone and that people genuinely do the best they can. We all experience joys and sorrows that can impact our daily functioning. Sometimes these experiences can make us feel "stuck," but we have the power to choose how we respond. Since learning never ends, we will discuss improving your self-awareness and build your "tool box" with strategies to empower you in everyday life. A caring atmosphere will be provided to help you discover your strengths, show yourself compassion, and to find balance in your life. I work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, abilities, and ages. Together, we'll build a tool box, so that you're better able to deal with situations that may cause discomfort. An eclectic and solution-focused approach to counseling is used. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness approaches are used as well. As we work together, we'll discuss ways to help improve your quality of life. I enjoy helping adults dealing with mental health changes, students with disabilities, individuals struggling with transitional issues (e.g. new diagnoses, elderly parents, veganism), career counseling, grief, pet loss, and how nutrition impacts mental health. As a first-generation college graduate, I understand firsthand the complexities, challenges, and insecurities that can come with navigating college and emerging adulthood. I am passionate about supporting college students as they navigate academic pressures, relationships, identity development, independence, and the many transitions that come with this stage of life. I believe deeply in investing in our youth and transitional-age young adults because they are our future. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where students feel heard, empowered, and confident as they work toward their goals and discover who they are becoming.
Hi, I'm Deepali! I help people reconnect with themselves. I especially enjoy working with people navigating grief in all its forms - the loss of a an old identity, a version of life you thought you'd have, or heartbreak. I do existential work with my clients: making room for the bigger questions about who you are and what your life actually means, while also bringing in practical, CBT-based tools you can use right away to make daily life a little easier. I also specialize in disordered eating through a weight-inclusive, Health At Every Size lens. I find a quick connection with people who are ready to get curious about their own patterns, rather than just manage symptoms. I use a warm, direct approach and bring humor, curiosity, and sometimes art, music, or reading into sessions, since healing doesn't only happen through talking. I'd be honored to help you find your way back to yourself.

We all have struggles. Despite our best efforts and intentions, those struggles can leave us feeling overwhelmed and we don't even understand how we got here. I want to help you explore and address your concerns, by encouraging a sense of curiosity and humor, when appropriate. Rather than approach our troubles with trepidation, why not approach them with interest – be curious about ourselves, how we came to be who/how we are, how the things we have tried have worked/not worked or even made things worse and what other options may exist that we have not yet thought of or tried? Learning to be curious about ourselves and the challenges we face, and to find humor and grace along the way, allows us to be less judgmental and feel less ashamed of ourselves and our struggles, so we can build a life we want on more solid ground. I’m a psychologist with 20 years of experience working with college-aged (traditional and non) individuals. I have a very collaborative approach – you are the expert on you. I incorporate a number of therapy approaches, using what I believe will best fit you and the difficulties discussed. I know how difficult it is to seek help and it's my job to make this easier by offering a warm, empathetic and safe place to explore and address your concerns. If you are ready to feel better about yourself and explore how you might meaningfully address the challenges in your life, I am excited to join you in this process!

Many of my clients are making exciting but often daunting transitions -- either from Jr High to High School, High School to College, or whatever comes next. Change is so often viewed with anxiety and negativity. Yet, change is happening all around us every day. How can we make change a positive experience in our lives? How can we choose to change something that is not working? How can we learn and grow from a challenging experience? As a counselor, I believe my job is to create a space where clients can explore these and other topics, in a way that ultimately positively impacts their day to day lives. I have 10+ years of professional experience working with adolescents and adults in outreach and community based organizations. I have a client centered, strengths-based approach to my work that integrates Positive Psychology and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I believe that it is critical that the client takes an active role in the counseling process. My clients face a range of life’s challenges: depression, anxiety, peer conflict, communication, transition to college/work, enhancing self-awareness, relationship/family dynamics (separation/divorce), grief, and autism or attention deficit/executive functioning challenges. I work primarily with young adults and their families, adults, parents and couples.

My clients are young women who are emotionally intelligent and highly self-aware; however, they still struggle with feelings of unworthiness and feel alone as they present to the world as "high-functioning." I help my clients make sense of the mismatch between what they “know” and what they feel and to move from surviving to thriving. My therapeutic style focuses on cultivating self-compassion and curiosity to offset the judgment we often use when relating to ourselves. A client of mine will hear me say, “All behavior makes sense, in context.” My aim is to be curious about your context to help you to see just how much you and your present experience makes sense.
I provide specialized therapy that is individually tailored to help you solve your problems and realize your potential. Clients regularly describe my approach as effective and enjoyable since it combines practical skills with a deeper understanding of the self. Clients also appreciate that I bring authenticity, determination, and humor into the healing journey. I have extensive experience helping people from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, and I regularly work with clients in the LGBTQIA+ community. I have particular expertise and interest in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, OCD, depression, perfectionism, self-expression, difficult life adjustments (college or otherwise), relationship issues, and addictions. To treat OCD, I specifically use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold standard in OCD treatment. If even a small part of you is curious to see how things can be different, I hope to get to connect with you soon.
