Hello, and welcome. We're a small relational trauma-responsive strengths-based psychotherapy practice that serves clients across incomes, race, gender, age, ability, interests, etc. We're also a diverse group of therapists with our own specialties, modalities, and service populations -- one of our therapists worked in higher education for over 10 years. But each one of us can see any type of client. Check out our profiles for more information and please don't hesitate to reach out.

Do emotions hit you like a tidal wave, or are you often stuck between feeling like you’re “too much” or “not enough”? Maybe you’re struggling to understand who you are or feel numb and disconnected from the world around you. Despite your best attempts at supporting yourself, are you still feeling stuck, anxious, and lonely? I can help you move towards a more peaceful and fulfilling life. As a therapist, I aim to help you understand your emotional patterns, strengthen your relationships, and feel more anchored in yourself. I work best with people who are seeking a cohesive sense of self, especially those who experience intense emotions, identity challenges, and the impacts of trauma. Much of my clinical experience has been working with college aged individuals. I have an affinity for working with neurodivergent individuals and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. My primary orientation is psychodynamic therapy. I also utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and hold advanced training in the Flash Technique. My clinical interests include codependency, C-PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, body image, and disordered eating. I am Poly/Kink affirming and my approach aligns with the principles of Health at Every Size (HAES). In our sessions, we will explore how early experiences and relationships have shaped how you see yourself and others. I believe that true healing happens in the context of a safe and authentic relationship with a shared sense of purpose. My approach is collaborative, open, and direct. Together we’ll create a space where you can learn to unmask, explore, grow, and connect with your true self.

My passion for this work stems from my own struggles with mental health throughout my life. I know firsthand how important it is to have the proper support. I identify with the LGBTQIA+, kink/BDSM, and poly/ENM communities, so I am familiar with the unique issues facing these marginalized communities, and also the struggle to find a safe space to express your unique self when seeking help. Whether the issues you are seeking therapy for are directly related to your identity or not, you can freely be yourself in our sessions and let your guard down. You will not have to expend the emotional labor to educate me about your identity(ies). I provide a safe space, while clarifying your goals and desired outcome for therapy. I tailor my approach to your unique needs. However you identify, I will meet you where you are at on your personal journey, and together we can work to figure out how you can live your most authentic life. Change does not happen overnight. It requires time, patience, and a willingness to be vulnerable. If you are ready to take the first step today, I would love to hear from you so we can get started! I will meet you with an unconditional, warm, empathetic environment to soften into while we face and process some of the things that hurt, bewilder, or confuse you the most. I use a humanistic, person-centered approach, utilizing a trauma-informed perspective. I strongly believe in the counselor-individual relationship, and feel a person's experiences influence their outlook and approach to the world. Through this approach, I feel individuals have the potential to grow if they have the support and environment to do so.

Most people in your life would be surprised to know that you have internal struggles because you hide it well, but deep down inside you feel unfulfilled and unhappy. While some areas of your life are good, other areas never seem to improve no matter how hard you work on them. There seems to be this pattern of behavior that constantly gets in your way. It appears as if something is always holding you back, you feel stuck and unsure of how to move forward. You want to learn how to love and accept yourself and improve the quality of your relationships, starting with the relationship with yourself. We will work together to help you develop healthy habits and new ways of thinking. My goal is to partner with you as you become more self-aware, confident, and courageous. I am passionate about helping you to create a more loving and helpful attitude towards yourself and others so that you can have the life you dream of.

College can be a time of fun and excitement, but it can also be a time of stress and anxiety. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist here at Village Therapy Practice, LLC who works hard to help clients (individuals, couples, and families) feel heard, understood, and validated. Using a systemic approach, I help each of my clients identify the underlying root cause of their struggles- such as depression, anxiety, adjustment, or relationship issues- and work to change the unhealthy patterns that keep them stuck in conflict. As a Penn State graduate myself (We Are!), I would love the opportunity to walk along students through this important journey!

Lydia obtained their masters in School and Mental Health Counseling at the University of Pennsylvania, and is currently working toward licensure. They have experience in working with LGBT adults and adolescents, the BIPOC community, and other marginalized identities. Lydia’s therapeutic approach primarily revolves around Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Person-Centered Counseling and they will implement techniques that best cater to their clients’ needs. Lydia’s values are informed through a lens of intersectionality by evaluating how structural oppression affects different minority groups. As a result, they promote radical self-love and acceptance as a form of resistance against oppressive systemic structures. You can find Lydia enjoying their free time tending to their plants, spending time with their cats, and playing video games.

Can you imagine what it would be like to turn the volume down on your anxiety? Anxiety is an essential part of our lives — it can keep us safe, healthy, and motivated. However there are times when our bodies can start to feel anxious, or we can be flooded with anxious thoughts and the worry is no longer helpful to us. If anxiety and anxious behaviors have started to feel like they are taking over your life, then you are in the right place. My approach is grounded in a collaborative, client-centered framework. Together, we will identify and address the specific fears and compulsions that impact your daily life. I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and board-certified art therapist (ART-BC) in the state of Pennsylvania. I provide trauma-informed care for adults struggling with anxiety and OCD. I use the evidence-based practice of exposure-based cognitive behavioral therapy to support clients in gaining control over their anxiety. Anxiety and OCD are greatly misunderstood and misrepresented in our society. Often, our thoughts and behaviors can leave us feeling isolated and ashamed. I aim to build trust, allowing you to explore and confront difficult emotions and situations at a pace that feels right for you.
