For the past decade, Michelle (she/her) has dedicated herself to understanding and supporting the unique journeys of individuals from various walks of life. Her vast experience spans across multiple settings and states, with a significant emphasis on acute care, addressing the needs of people across different age groups and objectives. While Michelle is knowledgeable in a variety of therapeutic modalities, she believes that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all solution. In partnership with her clients, she explores personalized techniques and skills that resonate with their unique experiences and aspirations. By cultivating a trauma-informed space, she ensures every client feels safe, valued, and genuinely heard throughout their therapeutic journey. Moreover, Michelle's strengths-based approach empowers clients, helping them harness their inherent potential and pave the way toward their goals. With her, therapy is a collaborative effort, placing equal weight on understanding one's present as much as visualizing and working toward the desired future. Michelle's commitment to inclusivity and individualized care is evident in her extensive training with reputable institutions such as the Transgender Training Institute, Open Sky, and MaMHCA. Beyond formal education, she constantly seeks out diverse resources to refine her expertise, ensuring her approach is both informed and empathetic. As a registered provider with GALAP, Michelle has also been an ally to many in their pursuit of affirming medical care, emphasizing her deep dedication to fostering genuine understanding and respect in her practice.
My work in counseling psychology emerged from being an artist. While earning my BFA at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, I was invited into my colleagues’ lives and learned to share their experiences through their lenses and perceptions. Graduate training at NYU sharpened this insight to bring a unique perspective to the therapeutic process. I provide feedback and reflection—infused with a dose of humor—in a warm, safe, and trusting atmosphere. My approach is both interactive and direct. I ask my clients to challenge themselves to be completely open and honest and share in a way that might feel like they’re ‘telling on themselves.’ Significant change and healing can only really begin with the whole truth. Believing strongly that the integration between mind and body leads to greater mental health, I encourage clients to incorporate physical activity and other treatment modalities: yoga, art, working out, running, massage, pets, acupuncture, meditation, medication, vacation, etc.
Life is full of challenges and difficult moments. I believe that as human beings, we are wired to deal with our pain in ways that leave us feeling lost, exhausted, and hopeless. We may lose sight of our purpose, our values, our loved ones, and the many other aspects of life that make us whole and content. With humility and compassion, I aim to support you in dropping the struggle and finding new ways to achieve the well-being you deserve. You don’t have to figure it out alone, and I'm sure we'll share some laughs along the way. I utilize a psychodynamic lens which focuses on the unconscious forces that often drive our emotions and actions; including underlying desires and anxieties that are present deep within the mind yet influence personality and behavior. In addition, I will integrate CBT and DBT with the goal of reducing unwanted behaviors. If we work on ourselves and learn to care for ourselves, we can then be present and capable of helping those around us. I’d love to hear from you. I am best reached over e-mail or through my website.
Welcome! We offer relational talk therapy to college students, graduate students, and couples. We especially enjoy working with high-achieving students who may look like they have it all together on the outside, but inside are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or unsure of themselves. College can bring a lot of change—new relationships, academic pressure, big decisions, shifting identities, and figuring out who you are outside of everyone else’s expectations. At Insights, therapy is a space where you don’t have to perform, achieve, or have all the answers. Our therapists are warm, genuine, and relational. We’ll help you better understand yourself, navigate relationships, build confidence, set boundaries, and create a life that feels meaningful and authentic to you. Whether you’re adjusting to college, navigating friendships or dating, struggling with perfectionism or people-pleasing, experiencing anxiety or stress, or simply wanting a space to talk things through, we’d love to connect with you.

Sometimes it's really hard for us to ask for help-especially when you're a strong, independent woman. Therapy is a great way to reach out, learn more about yourself, and grow through any challenges you might be facing. I help women who want to change their relationship with food and their bodies. I work with women in individual, group, & virtual therapy. I have a holistic approach that covers a wide range of symptoms & issues, but I enjoy helping clients who have struggled with their weight make peace with food. I love working with college women who are graduating & seeking support for the transition, and specialize in those women experiencing a "quarter life crisis". I also have a lot of experience helping women with recovering from sexual trauma. I love working with women who may have experienced an unplanned pregnancy or abortion as well, and offer an non-judgemental, pro-choice arena to explore emotions. Starting therapy can seem scary, but its brave to get some help! Make the decision to feel better today. I am an Out of Network insurance provider-contact your insurance to see if you qualify for these benefits. Flexible spending and HSA accepted as payment. I am Counseling psychologist, and I've worked in college mental health for the last five years, first as a therapist at Syracuse University's counseling center, then at Rhode Island School of Design's counseling center. I both provided therapy, and helped train others to provide therapy. I love working with students and helping them adjust to being at a university, figuring out how to cope with the demands of college, and find their way in the university system to make sure that they have access to not just tools for their mental health- but access to academic supports, financial assistance, and resources to help them work with their faculty members. I'm a generalist- I work with people across a wide range of issues and identities, and so I really try to tailor what I'm doing to fit what YOU need. I also have specialised training in LGBTQ+ mental health and treatment for Trauma. I believe that we are whole people, and our identities, culture, and access to resources are important to understand, respond to and support in therapy. I both work to help you understand your experience so you can respond in new and creative ways, and also know and use pragmatic strategy-based approaches that give you concrete ideas how to take the next step. If that sounds like a fit for you, reach out and I'm happy to speak more!

I specialize in working with those struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety and life transitions. I believe relationships matter, knowing that change can only happen when you feel supported and valued. Together, we will work to understand your needs in a judgment-free environment and identify the exact tools that can help you to manage life stressors. I use a a systems-based perspective in my practice, which considers the smaller pieces of our lives that add up to who we are as a person. Think of it like baking- all the ingredients (systems) come together to make the cake (the whole person). In our work together we will identify the specific systems that are impacting your well-being and how you can use you own power to adjust these systems as needed. I use DBT skills, CBT skills and mindfulness-based interventions to help us understand how to best support your systems. I am caring and compassionate, working alongside you to reach your best self. I know that every person is deserving of reaching their highest potential and find it an honor and a privilege to be a part of the process. I am currently providing Telemed therapy in Connecticut and Massachusetts. I look forward to being a part of your healing journey!

To establish a relationship with a therapist takes time and can be rewarding when you are able to build trust, knowing you are able to confide and share your perspective, your story. This process allows the individual the opportunity to gain clarity in a setting that is confidential and accepting. All too often emotional/physical pain can have a significant impact on our ability to remain independent, self-reliant, engaged in everyday tasks and life roles at level of independence that is rewarding to oneself and those they care for. As an Occupational Therapist with a background in behavioral health, I take a holistic approach. As an Occupational Therapist I have assisted many clients in understanding how their performance patterns, habits, routines, and roles influence life satisfaction. This process allows my clients the opportunity to promote, establish (or restore), or modify a task within a life role to create a sense of control over ones life. My background and 25 year experience have demonstrated success in supporting clients who experience physical/emotional pain and reduced functional independence. My ability to allow an individual to feel safe, acknowledged, and empowered while developing the tools and skills necessary for emotional stability, greater independence, and an effective resource.
It's wonderful you're taking the step to care for your mental health! I have a heart for college and graduate students and understand the unique stressors of university life, such as academic pressure, social anxieties, and the transition to independence. I am also passionate about helping individuals explore how their cultural and ethnic identities and upbringing interplay with their mental well-being, including the experiences related to cultural identity and navigating multiple cultural spaces. My background as a teacher, HR professional, writer, wife, mother, and therapist has broadened my empathy and understanding of diverse experiences. I graduated with a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Northwestern University and am trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), a well-researched method for trauma. I offer a collaborative therapeutic approach, and utilize many researched methods tailored to your individual needs. I understand that family history and early relationships can significantly impact mental health, so I often begin by exploring these areas. Together, we'll create a plan to achieve your goals. I enjoy working with adults of all ages, but I have a special fondness of college and graduate students during this unique time of exploration and adjustment. Please reach out, and let's figure things out together!
