I specialize in working with clients who are experiencing a multitude of challenges, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, disability/chronic illness, identity exploration, and challenges with self-esteem. This can include family/relationship issues, life transitions (including college/early adulthood), or identity formation. I specialize in working with neurodivergent individuals, especially women with ADHD. Supporting LGBTQ+ mental health from an intersectional lens is another focus. I also have an interest in working with clients who are exploring immigrant experience, family dynamics, and generational trauma. I previously worked in college counseling (at Wellesley College) and residential life (at Harvard College), so I'm well-attuned to the specific experiences and challenges of college student life! As a relational psychodynamic therapist, I believe that our experiences are shaped by our relationships with ourselves, other people, and the world at large. My work is informed by feminist, queer, disability, and critical race theory. I also integrate narrative therapy, which allows us to reimagine the stories we tell about ourselves and our lives. I am deeply attentive to how identity and marginalization can impact one's experiences and movement through the world. In my work, I strive for a trauma-informed, culturally-sensitive, and socially just practice. I meet clients with curiosity, warmth, and nuance to explore their experiences, relationships, and challenges. My goal is to co-create a welcoming and supportive space in which clients can tell/retell their stories, appreciate their strengths, and work towards their goals

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in your head, or unsure of who you are or where you’re going, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Therapy can be a space where you feel grounded and comfortable showing up as you are, without pressure or judgment, while we make sense of what’s been weighing on you. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, stress, self-doubt, relationship challenges, family conflict, or major life transitions, my goal is to make you feel supported and respected while you gain insight and confidence in who you are and how to manage whatever comes your way. I work with adolescents, teens, and young adults navigating the pressures of school, relationships, identity development, and expectations from others (and themselves). I also specialize in supporting athletes with confidence, focus, motivation, and returning to sport after injury while staying focused on who you are beyond performance. My approach is collaborative and person-centered. You are the expert on your life, and my role is to help you identify your strengths and values, develop practical tools, and build momentum toward meaningful change. I draw from EMDR, CBT, DBT, ACT, and Solution-Focused strategies in ways that are flexible and tailored to your needs and values.

At Ocean Gem Psychological Care, we strive to provide outstanding clinical care to all of our patients and families. No two treatments have ever been exactly the same and that’s because of you! Each individual is unique, with distinct personalities, support systems, problems, and strengths. Each of these variables (and more) are important aspects to consider in our work together. While it is important that we discuss areas in your life that are problematic for you, we also strive to address areas of personal strength. One’s strengths may be used effectively in combating the negative aspects of one’s life and strength-based interventions can make therapy fun! We are eager to get to know you and to begin our work toward making you a healthier you!

*Our practice is now accepting new students for individual counseling* Much of our suffering is stored throughout our body, leaving us with a racing mind and feelings of stress, anxiety, depression. By approaching healing through a lens that incorporates the whole-body, we will work together so that you can heal fully and sustainably. I specialize in working with individuals faced with persistent anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. Many of these symptoms will manifest in relationship issues, difficulty sleeping, or poor motivation. Together we will explore the root causes that perpetuate your suffering and develop strategies so that you can lead a more fulfilling and joyful life. I am a clinical social worker, yoga & mindfulness teacher. I blend my degree as a clinician along with training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Yoga Therapy to offer an integrative approach to treatment. I believe that in order to truly heal, we must honor our whole-body and mind working together. My mission is to uncover the most effective paths for guiding others in reducing suffering and increasing a sense of joy and fulfillment in everyday life. Professionally and personally, I have gathered experience, evidence, and strategies for enhancing life and uncovering “what it’s all about”. I wish to share this with you.

What if getting better didn't mean spending years talking about everything that's ever gone wrong? I work with college and grad students to build real, lasting change by providing insight and skills that actually help. With over a decade of clinical work in the US and abroad, I've helped young adults manage anxiety, quiet the perfectionism and imposter syndrome that follow them into every exam and internship, while creating a healthy type of confidence that remains under pressure. My clients describe working with me as supportive, direct, collaborative, and nothing like what they expected therapy to be. We figure out what's driving the pattern. Then we work on changing it. I specialize in: anxiety, burnout and stress, low self-esteem, perfectionism, and people-pleasing. My approach pulls from CBT, ACT, Positive Psychology, and Mindfulness, grounded in a trauma-informed model. You don't have to have it figured out to start. Currently offering Online Therapy throughout Massachusetts, New York, Colorado, Vermont, and Florida. Whether you are in Boston, NYC, or Denver, I am ready when you are.

The treatment I provide is influenced by relational, attachment-based, and psychodynamic modalities. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity concerns, trauma, and stress related to work and relationships. I work with adults of all ages and backgrounds to address their presenting symptoms, as well as explore the underlying roots of these symptoms to establish long-term benefits. I believe therapy is most effective when there is a trusting and open therapeutic relationship, so we will work together to identify a meaningful approach to your care. I’m experienced in working with culturally diverse and LGBTQ populations. Prior to earning my degree in counseling, I worked with LGBTQ youth and young adults in the Boston community at a nonprofit organization dedicated to health education. I understand how difficult it can be to find a good match in therapy, I encourage you to contact me for an initial phone call, and we can discuss how we might work together.

I see College and Graduate students at all year levels. I work with individuals and couples ( married and unmarried, who are dissatisfied with or want to improve their partnerships). Even the best parts of your academic career -- having more control over your own life, living with new people, getting to know a new city, forming new relationships, coming out to yourself or others, learning and pursuing what interests and inspires you -- can create stress. Relating to your family may be complicated, particularly if there have been difficulties at home. Loss, divorce, illness, abuse or substance abuse may factor into your story. You may be the first person in your family to go to college or beyond. You may have a chronic medical condition, visible or invisible to others. Figuring out who you want to be and what you have to work with may be unnecessarily burdensome to do all by yourself. When you hit a bump in the road, psychotherapy can help you problem solve, understand yourself better and come up with new strategies to move forward. Getting to know yourself better can be an important part of your education. Getting a handle on anxiety and/or depression can be crucial to making life work for you. Individual or couple psychotherapy can sychotherapy, free up energy to pursue life goals and improve relationships. I have worked with college and graduate students, as individuals and in couples, for over 25 years both in a University Counseling Center and in my private practice. I also have trained other professionals to work with students Please see my website or Psychology today profile for more information about my practice with couples and individual adults. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/roberta-caplan-waltham-ma/113684 I offer a free telephone screening to see if working with me might meet your current needs. I accept BC/BS PPO plans (not HMO) and can provide documentation you would need for out-of-network benefits for other plans.

Navigating mental health can be intimidating, confusing, and exhausting. I commend you for taking the first steps and am here to support you along the way. Therapy is not one-size fits all— my approach is culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and collaborative to prioritize each client's specific needs. I believe in the importance of building genuine therapeutic-relationships with clients to help them feel understood and empowered. I value your feedback to make sure we are working towards your goals. I hope to create a space that is warm, inviting, and celebrates your authentic self. I welcome clients of all backgrounds and identities, and specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ clients. Other areas of expertise include trauma, C-PTSD, anxiety, relationship diversity, and life transitions. My practice is dedicated to fostering social justice and challenging systems of oppression. Your story deserves to be heard. Together we will learn to embrace change and work towards achieving your mental health goals. Kailey is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Family Sciences and a Master’s Degree in Social Work, both from the University of Connecticut. Kailey is a warm, easygoing therapist who believes that therapy should feel like a safe space—a place where you can show up as yourself, no masks, no judgment, just real, honest conversation. She understands that life can feel overwhelming at times, but with the right support, believes everyone has the ability to grow, heal, and move forward in a way that feels right for them. Kailey’s approach is all about making therapy feel approachable and down-to-earth. She is not here to give you a bunch of jargon or leave you feeling more confused. Instead, she meets you where you’re at, listens to your unique story, and works with you to create meaningful change in a way that fits your life. Her therapeutic areas of focus include interpersonal dynamics, relationships, life transitions, anxiety, body image, self-esteem, and women’s issues. She utilizes an integrative, humanistic approach to therapy, including elements of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), psychodynamic theory, attachment theory and mindfulness. Though Kailey currently resides in Northern Virginia, she was born and raised in Connecticut and is a true New Englander at heart. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family, playing the fife and trumpet, watching UConn sports, and visiting local coffee shops. Kailey is also an advocate for human rights and social justice.

I believe that every person, no matter what challenges life has brought them, deserves to live life to their fullest potential. I welcome and embrace all aspects of lived experience and work to help individuals feel safe and comfortable in articulating their deepest feelings. I have a strong interest in working with teens and young adults, empowering them on the path of self discovery and finding their unique place in the world. I completed my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy from Lesley University in 2017. Since then, I have worked for Riverside Community Care gaining considerable experience in working with anxiety issues, self regulation and the challenges of family relationships. My trainings in Modern psychoanalysis from the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis and Motivational Interviewing developed my skills as a compassionate listener. I take a holistic approach to my work and believe that attention to mind, body and spirit is essential for healing. I integrate my additional trainings in mind/body wellness, Integrative Health and Wellness (including nutrition), yoga and Tai Chi, into my practice when and where appropriate.
