** Telehealth and In-Person appointments.** We all long for our experiences, feelings, and needs to be seen, recognized, and honored. I bring to our work deep respect for your concerns and suffering. I place the therapeutic relationship at the heart of our work together which I approach with curiosity and empathy. I am most interested in what your unique experience is, and I aim to listen deeply on our road toward understanding. I am humbled by the complexity of human existence and feel honored to work with individuals from different racial and cultural backgrounds, sexual and gender identities, as well as spiritual and religious affiliations. In addition to my private practice, I am an Instructor in Psychology at Harvard Medical School (part-time) and supervise psychology interns and psychiatrist fellows. I served as the co-chair of the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Society for Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychology Graduate Student Committee helping young clinicians explore and develop their professional identities.

I enjoy working with college and graduate students and have had many students from the colleges in Boston and the surrounding areas. I assess and treat those struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, relationship issues, social anxiety, and weight issues. My husband is a Taiwanese immigrant and as a mother of a biracial child I am familiar with acculturation and identity struggles. I've worked in multiple weight and pediatric/adolescent clinics and many of the Boston hospitals, as well as UMASS Medical Center Worcester, and often get the feedback that clients like that I'm specific with my feedback and suggestions and don't just nod my head. Well I know human behavior, you know you best, and working together I enjoy seeing my clients lives change and being a part of their growth.

During my career of being a therapist for over a decade, I have found that the working relationship is pivotal for any change to happen in therapy. I take great care to foster a sense of emotional safety so exploration, processing, and developing new understandings and patterns of interaction with one’s self, others, and the world may take place. I enjoy working with undergraduate and graduate university students, young adults, and working professionals who experience difficulties with general distress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and ADHD. By using elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy, contemporary psychodynamic therapy, and emotional focused therapy I ally with people to aid them in learning more about themselves while dislodging obstacles that may be present in their lives and relationships. I am passionate about helping people who are currently feeling like they are struggling in their lives and working with them to achieve what they envision their life to be through either weekly individual or couple therapy sessions. If you desire to see lasting changes in your work, life, and your relationships, I encourage you to reach out to me, so we can talk more about what you are trying to achieve through therapy.
A therapist is to honor and respect your individuality while creating a calm and safe space for you to express yourself openly and freely with no judgment. Your experience is unique, and I will treat it as such while intently listening to your story. You are the driver and expert of your own experiences, and the goal is to collaboratively approach your story with intentionality, sort through your challenges, explore strategies that best serve you, and prioritize your well-being.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist who trained at George Washington University and at Harvard University. I provide individual therapy for adults as well as couples therapy. I utilize psychodynamic/psychoanalytic perspectives in order to best understand my clients. I have worked with clients struggling with various issues such as depression and anxiety, low self-esteem, college/graduate school stress and relationship/family difficulties. I provide an empathetic, supportive, and interactive environment whereby together, the client and I can explore conflicts with the ultimate goal of reducing unpleasant thoughts and/or painful feelings. I view therapy as a process of not only working in the present, but also uncovering the past, allowing for the development of insight and awareness into one's patterns of thought and behavior. I have a particular interest in working with college students, graduate students, law students and attorneys. I am a Clinical Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, whereby I teach and supervise doctoral students. I am currently only working via telehealth.
