I fit well with clients that are in life transitions, figuring out their path, and interested in looking inward. I often use values work in my practice, helping my clients build a life philosophy that will serve them as they grow. The space I hold is meant to be safe and comforting, welcoming clients of all backgrounds and identities. My client's needs often include building self esteem, improving communication, working through family conflict, and coping with the stress that being a student and young adult brings.
Choosing to complete higher education is not only stressful, it's confusing. It's the first time you're dipping your toe into adulthood, and having to navigate the world on your own for the first time. Your mental health is the most important thing to maintain while in school. I, too, had to have my own therapist throughout my 6 years of university, so don't think you're the only one. Depression, anxiety, relational issues, making friends, meeting deadlines for your homework: the list of struggles goes on and on. You don't have to hold it in and carry it alone. Let's work on making you the best version of yourself while you pursue carving out an amazing life for yourself.
I am a Master’s Level Intern in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Ball State University. I'm working with Associates in Behavioral Counseling under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. I work with all ages, from young children to older adults, who experience relationship/family concerns, depression, grief, trauma, anxiety, self-esteem, and behavioral disorders. Sessions will always be person-centered, culturally-sensitive, and trauma-informed. My approach to therapy is holistic, mind-body oriented, and rooted in mindfulness. I also pull from emotionally-focused therapy, attachment-based therapy, and expressive arts therapy. I believe that the therapy should fit the person, not the other way around. So, I may pull from other modalities that will benefit you the most.
When it comes to addiction, individuals, families, and churches feel the impact and search for freedom. At NewDay, we provide a unique experience using evidence-based addiction treatment while emphasizing the Christian aspect of recovery as anchors to provide comprehensive care for the whole person and their family.
I have experience providing individual therapy for college students, queer adults, and individuals processing trauma. I have also worked with women who have experienced domestic abuse and sexual assault. I facilitate a group for people healing from religious trauma. Everyone deserves to feel like they can show their whole selves when they come to therapy. My hope is to provide space for you to be seen and understood. I would be honored to support you as you navigate your therapy goals at Catalyst. Abortions are healthcare.
