I am currently accepting new clients! Poor boundaries, putting others first, fear of outcomes, and lack of self-trust leads to people-pleasing, perfectionism, self-doubt, hurt feelings, resentment, poor self-esteem, unhealthy relationships, anxiety, depression, etc., ultimately is what leads people to therapy! Most people have not learned how to handle uncomfortable situations in healthy ways that feel comfortable specifically to them. Allow me to guide you with trusting yourself enough to choose you each time regardless of the outcome! When we put ourselves first, we will show up as our best selves! I specialize in a wide range of issues including depression/anxiety, coping with life transitions, communication in relationships, and parenting. I enjoy working with women, men, couples, and families with a myriad of challenges. I provide a supportive, culturally competent, judgment-free environment, specifically tailored to your individual needs. I incorporate a person-centered approach with interventions from, solution-focused, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. My clients love my down-to-earth personality which allows them to let their guard down, trust and share! We are all different for a reason and learning self-awareness is key to understanding and accepting, changing thoughts and behaviors.
If you are struggling with day to day life events, changes, emotions, crisis, losses, and insecurities, I am here to help. Many people need reassurance, guidance, direction and just clarity. People want someone to help ensure them that things will be "Okay." A healthy mind is a happy mind and in efforts to ensure that our minds are healthy we have to learn how to be happy. Happy does not just mean smiling and being able to get through your day without a complaint. Happy means being in tuned with your "star player" and trusting who YOU are as a person. I welcome a warm nonjudgmental spirit of truth, empathy and compassion. I can help you through those tough times and those good times. I enjoy listening and helping others through this journey called life. I offer cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy and reality-based therapy. I offer challenges to the negative mind and solutions to a positive mind. I invite you to be able to work towards a better you, a healthier mind and a full spirit. I offer many skills that will allow you to transform your healthy to happy and your happy to healthy. I truly believe that once you accept who you are becoming, you can trust where you are going.
Hi! I work with children, teens, adults, and families to help them meet their goals and improve their overall well-being. My approach is warm, creative, and client-centered—I tailor each session to fit your needs and comfort level. As a Registered Art Therapist and talk therapist, I believe in the healing power of creativity. Art can help you process complex emotions, build coping skills, and find hope and resilience. You don’t need to be an artist to benefit from art therapy—it's about expression and exploration, not perfection. If art isn’t your thing, that’s totally okay too! I also use traditional talk therapy approaches.
My passion centers around guiding clients throughout the journey of life while assisting them in the cultivation of their dreams, ambitions, and goals. My approach to treatment begins through a compassionate lens of “person-in-environment”, the idea that an individual, couple, or family cannot be understood fully without respect for the various aspects of their social, familial, temporal, spiritual, economic, and physical environments. I enjoy working with a variety of populations: late-adolescents, young adults & adults, LGBTQ+, and executive professionals dealing with anxiety, depression, anger, grief & loss, trauma, and life-transitional issues. I also embrace working with men’s issues, high-achievers/perfectionists, and healthcare providers. As an African-American therapist I hold a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life and empowering people of African ancestry through advocacy, human services delivery, and research. In both my personal and professional life, I am cultivating a mindfulness practice. Practicing mindfulness has allowed me to intimately connect with the present moment thereby enhancing my relationship between mind-body, with loved ones, and with nature. I find incorporating mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral interventions including Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based CBT (M-CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to enhance the therapeutic process by cultivating non-judgemental awareness, compassion, and purpose. I apply these principles to the therapeutic relationship by cultivating a warm, non-judgmental environment, allowing clients to feel safe in connecting with the most intimate parts of themselves so that they may begin the healing process. My therapeutic philosophy incorporates trauma-informed approaches to therapy. Often times out of necessity, survivors of trauma need to disconnect from themselves (mind & body) to survive the most difficult and horrific experiences of their lives. Using this lens, my hope is to assist clients in healing the fractures of trauma by re-establishing the connection between their minds and bodies. In my personal life I am a husband, brother, and devoted dog-parent to my, pitbull-boxer mix, Maple. Georgia has been my home for over 16 years now but I still consider myself a native Chicagoan. During my spare time, hobbies I enjoy include: coaching & playing lacrosse, video games, weightlifting, and caring for my Bonsai tree collection. I offer a limited amount of reduced fee appointments to clients who cannot comfortably afford to pay the full fee for services. Isom E. White, LCSW is seeing clients in our Smyrna / Vinings location.

As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, it’s my goal to advocate for patients who struggle to be heard or respected, and to manage their treatment with compassion, understanding, and attention to holistic care. Nursing is all about the relationship you establish with your patients, and understanding them from their perspective. I believe mental health care should be a collaborative effort between the individual and their provider, with the ultimate goal of achieving total body wellness.
I see a whole host of issues in my practice, however I specialize in trauma--whether that is childhood sexual abuse, current sexual assault, chronic trauma that occurred throughout your life (i.e. neglect, chaotic upbringing, etc), or one time events (natural disaster, accidents, deaths). Trauma often leads to a host of other issues, that I also work well with in my practice. Some of the issues I see alongside trauma include anxiety and depression, life transitions, relational conflict, process addictions (such as eating disorders, sex or gaming addiction), substance abuse, or family of origin issues.
I help individuals and couples who are looking to improve their relationships and themselves. I am caring and compassionate and offer a good blend of support and feedback in my therapy.

When you fall in love, mating hormones cause everything to be so easy: the touching, kissing, making love, listening, being heard, talking about anything and sometimes communicating without words. In six months, the hormones lose effect and loving loses the easy. Now we can teach you skills to get the easy loving back every day. Email us at lanestokes18@yahoo.com to reserve day and time to take the classes. Couples and Marriage Counseling is all about talking. We are all about action. Learn more at CounselingServicesAtlanta.com Lane Stokes, Founder KEY WORD is ACTION! We are moving rapidly from counseling to teaching because no time is wasted in talking about what is hoped for. You are getting it right then! Of course, teaching is a brand new concept so we continue to offer counseling for those unwilling to try something new. We treat mental illnesses and conditions, shame, guilt, anger, depression, anxiety, sadness, loneliness and worry. We also teach cutting edge classes for controlling emotions, discovering how others see us and changing that to something more preferred, teaching clients how to increase self-esteem and self-confidence, understanding personality conflicts that destroy relationships both personal and business and more. I am Lane, easy to talk with, caring, non-judgmental and eager to help. Please email me at lanestokes18@yahoo.com and lets chat about all that we can do for you. Consultation is complimentary. If you think the fee of $190 is too much, consider the speed with which we work. I can teach you in five hours what it would take you five years to learn in weekly counseling about emotions. Try to get that from counselors who charge less.
