Therapists for college students near 30303
Drawing from 10+ years of clinical experience, I use a solution-focused approach to teach skills to overcome worry, depression, anger, stress, guilt, low self-esteem, sleep issues, relationship struggles, and parenting challenges. My clients and I work on improving their wellness and their lives by exploring helpful solutions, perspectives, and habits.
My clients struggle like you do They got good at going it alone so they’ve gone it alone (or at least it feels that way sometimes.) They’re the people who want to feel in control and powerful, but instead they’re left bearing the weight of the world and have no idea where to start to find their way out from under it. They feel like a ticking time bomb. It looks to the rest of the world that they’ve got it all together, meanwhile they’re left thinking, “oh but if they knew the real me…” You don’t have to live inside this cloud of shame. You don’t have to live forever with the weight of your own self doubt.
I am passionate about working with individuals struggling with anxiety and depression-related disorders, disordered eating and eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, communication issues, social injustice, trauma recovery, and more.
Welcome to Healing Hearts & Minds, where healing begins with grace, compassion, and purpose. I believe therapy should be a place where you can come exactly as you are—without the pressure to have everything figured out or pretend you're okay. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship challenges, life transitions, grief, or simply feeling overwhelmed, my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and understood. I believe people are far more than a diagnosis or the hardest season of their lives. My approach is relational, collaborative, and practical. Together, we'll work to understand not only what brought you to therapy, but also the patterns, beliefs, and experiences that may be keeping you stuck. As trust develops, we'll gently challenge those barriers while building healthy coping skills, confidence, and resilience. My hope is that therapy becomes more than a place to manage symptoms. I want it to be a place where you rediscover your authentic self, learn to trust yourself again, strengthen your relationships, and move forward with confidence and purpose. Whether you're seeking support for a temporary life challenge or a longer healing journey, you'll be met with grace, compassion, and genuine care every step of the way.
In my practice, I see college students and young adults for a variety of issues including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, stress, transitions/major life decisions, and career concerns. I provide individual counseling using solution-focused and cognitive therapies. I also employ a whole-person process approach to career counseling so that all factors are considered when making vocational decisions. I strive to provide my clients with a safe, nonjudgmental environment to understand themselves better and move toward a fulfilling life. I often learn as much from my clients as they do from me and I consider therapy a highly collaborative process.
Our greatest strengths can be found in the company of the parts of ourselves we avoid. I will show up in a deeply authentic way so that you may feel safe to do the same. Your future self is rooting for you to continue this journey. Let's figure out together how to make therapy the experience you need. I work with neurodiverse adults navigating life transitions and connecting their current struggles back to childhood experiences. I look forward to meeting you!

ONLINE ONLY! In my view, psychotherapy serves different purposes at different stages of one's life. For young adults, one of the key tasks at hand is to discover their potential, talents, weaknesses, fears, wants and needs, and to manage relationships at various levels of emotional intimacy. In this process, many of us need to clarify past issues and unresolved conflicts to move forward more freely. My practice is informal, relaxed and friendly, and most of my clients come from multicultural and multiracial backgrounds, and I treasure diversity. I am comfortable working in English, Portuguese and Spanish languages.
Feeling Stressed, Stuck, or Just Overwhelmed? College is exciting—but let’s be honest, it can also feel like too much. Between classes, relationships, family expectations, and trying to figure out who you are and where you’re going, it’s easy to feel anxious, burnt out, or lost. Therapy can give you space to breathe, sort things out, and build tools that actually work for your life right now. You don’t have to wait until you’re “in crisis” to talk to someone—sometimes the best time to reach out is when you just need a place to be real without judgment. Whether it’s stress, identity questions, relationship struggles, or just feeling like you’re carrying more than you should, I’m here to walk with you. Your story matters, and your well-being matters. Let’s start where you are. Book a session today and give yourself the support you deserve.
I believe therapy should be a place where you can explore all parts of yourself, find your voice, and build a life that feels true to who you are. Whether you're navigating identity, life transitions, relationships, self-worth, boundaries, learning to prioritize your own needs, or the anxiety and depression that can come along with it all, I'm here to support you. I'll help you notice patterns, ask the questions that spark reflection, and create a space where we can be honest, curious, and probably laugh together too.
*note: I am currently working full-time as a telehealth therapist!* As a person-centered therapist, I believe in creating a warm, safe space where you can feel heard, understood, and comfortable being yourself. My goal is to walk alongside you, offering support without judgment, as we work through the challenges you're facing. I know that life can be tough, and therapy can feel intimidating at first, but I’m here to help you navigate it with kindness and understanding. Together, we’ll work at your pace to help you find your inner strength and make positive changes that fit your life. No matter what you’re going through, I’m here to listen, support, and walk with you every step of the way.I am a Licensed Master Social Worker practicing under the direct supervision of Jessica G. Adjusting to college life can be difficult on so many levels. I can help with anxiety and depression issues that you've been struggling with for a long time or that are new to you. Issues I often see are related to adjusting to being independent for the first time, the rigor of school, or navigating new social circles. I have special expertise in helping folks with body-focused repetitive behaviors (skin picking, hair pulling) as well as being training in cognitive behavioral treatment of insomnia.
I enjoy providing college students across the southeast with individual therapy - undergrad, graduate students, and beyond. This work commonly focuses on helping students experiencing anxiety, depression, perfectionism, academic stress, imposter syndrome, identity recognition, social challenges, relationship problems, and work/life balance. I have appointments available between 9:00am-6:00pm Monday through Friday. For more information, contact me by phone/text at: 706-749-4300 or email ataraxiapsych@gmail.com
