Therapists for college students near 80204
Hi, I’m Michelle. I’m a mindfulness-based therapist who works with college students navigating anxiety, relationships, self-doubt, and the sometimes messy process of figuring yourself out. I offer a warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed space where you can slow down, feel understood, and make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface. Together, we’ll work toward feeling more grounded, confident, and connected to yourself. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you come to therapy. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in patterns you want to change, struggling in a relationship, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply, we can start exactly where you are. My approach may incorporate mindfulness, somatic and nervous-system work, attachment-based therapy, and EMDR when appropriate.
I'm Dr. Caroline Mazzer, a licensed psychologist working with college-age clients using CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). I help clients who are struggling with anxiety, difficulty managing intense emotions, self-injury, suicidal thoughts, and mood disorders. College brings a lot of emotional intensity: new independence, new pressures, and often new or worsening struggles with mood and self-regulation. In our work together, you'll build concrete DBT skills for tolerating distress, regulating emotion, and staying safe, alongside a therapeutic relationship where you feel genuinely supported.
Hi, we're Better Life Therapy! We're currently accepting new clients for both in-person and virtual therapy, and can typically schedule your first session same-week. We're a diverse group of over 40 professional therapists treating a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, trauma, substance use, eating disorders, and others. Many of our therapists are deeply familiar with issues commonly faced by college students. We practice a warm, compassionate style of therapy with a deep respect for patient concerns and values. We see patients both online and in-person at our offices in Lakewood, Westminster, and Denver Cap Hill. We accept all major insurances, including Medicaid (with the exception of BC/BS), and have a low-to-no cost sliding scale program for those that need it.
Revolving thoughts of sadness, fear, trauma, or even grief can make it extremely difficult to have hope. Day to day activities start to feel meaningless. I would like to guide you out of the darkness and towards growth. You are not meant to live in the shadows. I am here to help you cultivate a mental environment capable of prosperity. My specialties include: Addiction & Substance Use, Anxiety & Depression, Autism Creative Arts Techniques, Grief Counseling, Identity Formation, Purpose and Meaning, Spirituality, Trauma/PTSD, Military Veterans and Family Members. As a counselor, I find it powerful to help my clients find emotional independence. I am here to guide your discovery, what your potential is and how you can get there. There is beauty in your vulnerability and openness to change, change that can redirect the projection of your life.
Have you ever thought to yourself— “I need someone to talk to, but struggle to open up”... “I just can’t seem to snap out of this sadness”... “I feel like I have no sense of direction”... “I feel overwhelmed”... Feeling lost, overwhelmed, or stuck can make life a constant struggle. Sometimes, our subconscious thoughts lead us to repeat the same actions even when we want to change, creating a cycle that feels difficult to break. If you're struggling with anxiety, depression, or a past trauma, you don't have to do it alone. It takes great courage to open up to someone and ask for help. If you’re ready to take that step, I’m here to support and empower you to learn, grow and process whatever is on your mind. I provide counseling to children and adults and utilize a solutions-focused, strengths-based approach. Please call or send a message if you think we might be a good fit.
I am a psychologist in private practice. I work with students to help them cope better with depression, anxiety, academic and family stressors, and relationship issues. I like to work with students over time to sustain lasting and meaningful changes in their lives so that they can successfully work toward their goals. I help students navigate their family and friend relationships as well as work through any old patterns that get in their way of getting along well with others and managing their day to day stressors.
Foothills CBT Psychology Group is a team of doctoral-level psychologists based in Boulder, just minutes from CU Boulder's campus. We know the specific pressures of college life — academic stress, homesickness, roommate and relationship conflict, identity and life-transition questions, anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and the burnout that comes with trying to do it all. Our therapists are trained in evidence-based approaches including CBT, ACT, DBT, and exposure-based treatment (ERP), and we tailor our approach to each client rather than using a one-size-fits-all model. We see clients in our Boulder office and also offer telehealth throughout Colorado through PSYPACT, so you can keep your same therapist even if you head home for breaks or move within the state after graduation. Our clinicians work together as an integrated team, which means you're never just a name on a list — you're matched with the provider whose training and approach genuinely fit what you're looking for. Because we're a group practice, you're not limited to one option. We have several qualified, licensed psychologists on our team, each with their own areas of focus and their own way of working with clients — so if the first fit doesn't feel quite right, there's likely someone else on our team who will. Personality and rapport matter as much as credentials, and we want you to find a therapist you actually want to keep seeing. We are a private-pay practice (we do not bill insurance directly, though we can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement).

I offer diagnostic evaluation and individual therapy for adolescents and adults. All services are offered in-person in Boulder, CO or via video conference. I'm Dr. Ashley Coburn, a psychologist candidate working with college-age clients using DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). My expertice is in treating anxiety disorders, personality disorders, mood disorders and eating disorders. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, emotion dysregulation, self-injury, suicidal ideation, depression, restrictive eating, bing purge behavior, and trauma. If your emotions have been feeling bigger and harder to manage than usual, or you're having thoughts of hurting yourself, I want you to know there's a structured, evidence-based path forward. I'll walk it with you at a pace that feels manageable, with real skills you can use between sessions, not just in them.
Therapy is a journey where you learn more about yourself, your internal experience, and your loved ones in order to change your life based on your own goals and values. I can help you and/or other members of your family gain flexibility in your thoughts and actions through experiential skill development. At times, therapy can involve vulnerability and emotional expression; while at other times, it can be playful and enlightening. My goal is to create a warm and safe environment where emotions, thoughts, memories, and other internal experiences can be explored with compassion and understanding. I have experience in treating trauma, anxiety, OCD, insomnia, depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and interpersonal concerns using a variety of evidence based treatments. I have helped children, adolescents, families, parents, and couples approach their concerns from a family systems perspective.

I work best with students who are high-achieving, thoughtful, and often putting a lot of pressure on themselves to succeed. Many of the students I support feel anxious, overwhelmed, or burned out, even when things look “fine” on the outside. I also work closely with students from multicultural backgrounds who are navigating identity, family expectations, or a sense of not fully belonging. I have extensive experience supporting students who have been impacted by trauma, including sexual assault, relationship violence, and other difficult life experiences. I spent four years working at the Office of Victim Assistance at CU Boulder, and I bring a steady, compassionate approach to creating a space where students feel safe, supported, and in control of their healing process.

Satie is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Her specialties include trauma, depression, grief and loss, relationships, anxiety, self-esteem, life transitions, and development of self-awareness and self-connection. She takes a whole-person and compassion-rooted approach and often combines relational, body-based, emotion-focused, and mindfulness elements in working with clients. Satie approaches therapy as a collaborative relationship in which the process is tailored specifically to what each person needs over time. She believes that not everyone needs the same things from therapy, so it needs to adjust to each person. Therapy with her is relational and grounded and her therapeutic style is described as collaborative, empathetically challenging, and non-judgmental. Satie strives to make room in therapy for calm, humor, and joy in the process as well. Her ideal clients are individuals who understand that healing often requires change. With that in mind, she works to support clients in identifying and exploring personal response patterns, making meaning, gaining insight into emotions, shifting beliefs about self, and learning to better regulate or cope. Her hope is for individuals to connect with their needs and experience meaningful changes or insights in therapy that help them to feel more empowered, build a strong personal foundation of understanding, and reconnect with parts of themselves or experiences they've felt disconnected from. Whether you're needing a supportive place in your life to process stress and transition or wanting to explore deeper concerns, She will provide a calm, open space for you to do that.
