My name is Anoushey Khan and I'm a California Licensed Psychotherapist (LMFT131555) providing online therapy throughout the State. Teenage years and early adulthood can be a great time in life to learn who you are and establish your place in the world. These years can also be difficult since many struggle to cope with the pressures of school, friendships, identity, body image, acculturation, anxiety and other challenges. I work primarily with teens and young adults who are trying to find themselves while also navigating these challenging issues. If you are facing these challenges, I want you to know that you are not alone and I want to support you so that you can feel empowered to face these complex experiences in a healthy way.

If you are struggling with any of these, you are in the right place...people-pleasing, inner criticism, addictive behaviors, trauma, challenges setting and enforcing boundaries, worrying what others think about you, challenges in relationships, low self-esteem, worry of failure, high self-expectations, overfilling your plate and stress, detachment from self with substances, food, work, people, etc., and feeling powerless and alone. And, here you are seeking help, which takes courage. I recommend trying out multiple therapists to find the best fit, starting with consultations. Contact me for a 20 minute consultation, free of charge. Through compassion, authenticity, validation, and creativity, I create a protected space for healing, expression, and self-exploration. I also use mindfulness, expressive arts therapy, strength-based, and trauma-based approaches. I have a life-long commitment to social justice and I continuously work towards cultural humility. I am cis-gendered Chicana/White & LGBTQI with a lived experience of healing & recovery. Feel free to contact me with questions and to schedule a (free) 20-minute video or phone consultation to see if we are a good fit. I'm here to support you in your journey towards liberation, self-acceptance, self-love, healing, and growth. https://www.rosinaroibalmft.com/

Psychologist
Beaverton, OR

Hi there! My name is Reese Minshew, and I work almost entirely with transgender (broadly defined) adults who have had traumatic (broadly defined) experiences. I’m licensed in California, Illinois, and New York, and work via telehealth with people located in any of those states. Clinically, I believe that the reactions we have after experiencing trauma and stress are fundamentally adaptive to the trauma, but can disrupt everyday life. In other words, if you had a difficult experience (including chronic exposure to structural stressors such as anti-trans bias, white supremacy, ableism, etc), you might not be able to eat, sleep, focus, calm down, feel excited, or be in relationships in the way you want. Whatever reaction you’re having was very helpful to you at one time, but if it’s no longer serving you then we can work on that. Most of the time we would do this by talking about what’s going on in your life right now, and working to understand it in the context of your past experiences.

I help clients deal with an array of life problems such as; depression, anxiety, IPV, trauma, assault, chemical dependency, co occurring conditions, maternal and postpartum, infertility, grief, etc. Previous clients have expressed therapy sessions with me have led to; better relationships, solutions to specific problems, and reduction of feelings of stress. My approach to therapy is meeting the client where they are and allowing clients to explore which therapy approach works best for them. Therapy can create some discomfort for both patients and people close to them. This is because therapy can involve change. I used a plethora of treatment modalities; CBT, DBT, gestalt, solution focused, EMDR, and many more. I feel clients are the experts of their lives and my job is not to judge or tell a client what to do. But to be a helpmate to assist a client to get where they're trying to go.

You’ve been holding it together the best you can, but you are tired. Exhausted from the constant worry, waiting for the next shoe to drop, and never feeling like you’re enough. Sleepless nights, self criticism, and gripping anxiety may make sense given everything you’ve been through, but you are ready to find some relief and start caring for yourself as much as you care for those around you. I help women and teen girls feel confident that they can handle what life throws their way, to feel empowered to honor their needs and boundaries, and to overcome the past to find new patterns of relating to themselves and others. Together we can compassionately untangle what it is that gets in the way of living the life you long for and reconnect to a more easeful, connected, and authentic way of being in the world. I specialize in supporting survivors of trauma, caregivers, and social and environmental justice activists seeking sustainable involvement in movements for change. Schedule a free consultation with me (online booking available through my website) to start shifting the patterns that keep you from feeling calm, confident, and connected to your life.

As a clinical psychologist, I understand that seeking therapy can be a challenging and vulnerable experience. This makes it all the more important to me to create a warm and welcoming environment where you feel comfortable and understood. My approach is compassionate and understanding, and I am here to provide guidance and support as you navigate the challenges you're facing and work towards positive changes in your life and relationships. I received my Master's and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from California Lutheran University. I completed a doctoral internship in clinical health psychology at Veterans Affairs Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center, an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited training site. I furthered my specialization in trauma-informed care with a postdoctoral residency at Veterans Affairs Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Center. I have training and experience implementing evidence-based practices such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). I am a certified provider of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma. I have worked with couples, individuals, and groups in community, VA, and private practice settings. My research has focused on helping survivors of human trafficking and complex trauma. I truly believe in the power of therapy, and I am here to support and encourage you every step of the way. Hello and welcome. Firstly, I can offer services for psychological evaluations and therapy. Evaluations can be helpful to address learning disabilities, ADHD, or psychological pieces that are impacting performance in your educational pursuits. Therapy approaches are integrative and dependent on your goals. I work from an integrative approach that looks at all aspects of you, to recognize and boost your strengths and to put in place tools and cushions for any weak areas that are present. I offer a safe space and take a nonjudgment approach in my work. After all, we have all been struck with the human condition. :)

I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families, using a variety of methods to encourage change and growth. I understand it can be difficult to build trust and talk to a stranger about past or current traumas, stresses, and worries. I will make every effort to create a safe space to work through those events and issues, while providing support. It is always an honor for me to witness change, to be a part of growth and to see my clients thrive and find more of themselves.

People-pleaser, perfectionist, anxious, passive. If any of the above phrases or words describe you, guess what? You're reading the right profile. If you're ready to break-out of unhelpful patterns; if you're motivated to start using your voice; even if you're ready to start therapy to see where it takes you - I can be the therapist to help move you in a different direction. If you're looking for someone who is very structured, that's not me. I offer no-frills sessions and am not afraid to (gently, mind you) challenge or question you. I operate collaboratively and conversationally. Anxiety, people-pleasing, all those things I named above are my specialties. If you're a first timer to therapy - I can also help with that! Look, I get it - it's hard to pick someone whom to tell your innermost thoughts. I understand the feeling of uncertainty and the frustration of finding the "right" therapist. If you're willing to reach out to see if we're a good fit, let's talk!

The college experience can be a mixed bag. New environments, forming new relationships, academic pressures - and all while trying to tend to your mental health? Some of your peers seem to be navigating things better than you feel like you are. It is normal to be overwhelmed and feel out of your element. In my practice, I aim to create a collaborative environment for the most challenging emotions you feel to have a space to be heard and understood. I have experience working with grief/loss, life transition issues, family conflict, and anxiety/depression in my work with clients. Please feel free to reach out for a free phone consultation.
