As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, one goal is to assist the client in becoming aware of inaccurate or negative thinking patterns so they can assess challenging situations more clearly, and respond to them in a more effective, healthier way.
Other aspects of CBT include: identifying ways to manage emotions, learning coping techniques, practicing communication skills, and interpersonal conflict resolution.
