Dr. Dawson is an Emory-trained psychiatrist practicing in the historic Morningside - Virginia Highland neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia.

Dr. Dawson's approach to treatment is warm and supportive. She believes that life can be complex, and that while careful use of medication can be useful for treating symptoms, there is usually so much more to our story that needs to be explored. With this in mind, her treatment style offers generous appointment lengths, allowing patients time be heard and discuss their diagnosis and treatment plan.

About the Practice:

Patients should have the freedom to interact with their psychiatrist in a way that is not confined to a “15 minute med check.” To preserve this higher quality of care, services are offered on an “out of network” basis. This means Morningside Psychiatry does not contract or communicate directly with insurance companies, and patients will be responsible for full payment at the time of service.

Many patients choose to keep their treatment private from their health insurance providers for their own privacy concerns and in order to avoid issues with obtaining life insurance or disability insurance at a later date.

If you would like to submit an out-of-network claim for partial reimbursement from your insurance company, please contact your insurance company prior to your appointment to verify your eligibility. At your request, Dr. Dawson will provide you with a statement that includes the necessary details needed for your claim. Please note that Dr. Dawson does not offer direct communication with insurance companies.
