Vanessa Hartmann PhD, Upshur Bren Psychology
Provider Types
This is a group practice with multiple providers, including:
- Psychologists
I am a psychologist at Upshur Bren Psychology Group in Pelham, New York. Our group specializes in helping individuals and families. I have specialized training in working with college students, emerging adults, and adolescents as they navigate life transitions, identity development, relationship conflicts, stress and trauma, and academic and professional concerns.
I have a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Adelphi University, an MFA in Non-fiction writing from Columbia University, and a BA from Sarah Lawrence College. I have held previous positions at The New School's student mental health clinic, and Mt. Sinai Beth Israel. I completed my internship in the Adult Psychiatry Department at New York Presbyterian Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Prior to returning to school to study psychology, I worked for many years in publishing, journalism and the arts. These experiences inform my passion for helping clients explore their inner worlds, create narrative, and find meaning during particularly challenging times.
Payment: I offer sliding scale appointments. For clinical services at Upshur Bren Psychology, while we are not in network with any insurance plans, we will work with you to determine your out-of-network benefits and provide you with all the necessary paperwork to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
