Tyara Dabrio, MHC-LP
As a first-generation, Caribbean-American, and Black woman I understand the importance of offering individualized and culturally-sensitive therapy. Our stories are created by a complex mixture of cultural, economic, racial, ethnic, and sexual relationships with ourselves and the world. Our work in therapy may include exploring these relationships and acknowledging the difficulties of balancing external conditions with personal needs. We will also take a look at the patterns that have developed based on past experiences, and how these experiences are informing the present.
I offer compassionate and thoughtful therapy. I use a variety of approaches depending on the client but lean towards person-centered, relational-cultural, and psychodynamic modalities. I utilize a collaborative treatment plan called LifeMaps and you will be directly involved in creating your care plan and tracking your progress during our work together.
We will also work towards a therapeutic space filled with authenticity, trust, and respect. I honor the strength it takes to seek self-understanding and commit to creating a safe, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space. Message me today to set up a consultation.
