Do you feel like you've arrived at a place not of your choosing? Do you stand on the threshold of something new and unknown? With so many external forces competing for your attention, it's hard to even take stock of these questions. And that's on top of the more timeless and pressing life transitions associated with adulthood, college, careers, long term relationships, aging, or parenting, to name a few. Failing to address these questions leaves you carrying around little bags of anxiety, depression, resentment, or a general disenchantment with the world promised to you. In this state, it's hard to live deliberately.
This state is textbook cognitive dissonance. To help you resolve it, I endeavor to create a safe, non-judgmental space in which you can peel back the layers of your learned distortions. Uncovering these distortions allows you to make conscious decisions that take into account a more honest assessment of your feelings, attitudes, actions, and goals.
But the distortions didn't get there overnight, and I can't promise it'll be easy to shed them. What I can promise is that those little bags of negative feelings can only be emptied through conscious awareness of your cognitive dissonance, and doing so reveals a version of you that has a greater sense of agency and a clearer path to happiness and fulfilment.
