Tina Del Purgatorio
I am a very warm, approachable, and down-to-earth practitioner who has been complimented for my ability to make all people feel comfortable while sharing their stories. My areas of specialization include affirmative care for LGBTQ+ and gender-expansive teens and adults as well as management of stress, anxiety, depression, and adjustment to life transitions in adults and adolescents. I am also the Director of Social Work at a high school in New York City where I have worked for 12 years.
I deeply value the relationship built between therapist and client, and I rely on it as we dive deep into challenging topics. While I believe the therapist and client relationship alone can be a uniquely healing force, I also infuse elements of many therapeutic modalities into my work depending on the client's individual needs. When working with adolescents, I find it vital to include caregivers in the conversation and the work.
