Tina Amorok
Tina Amorok, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist and Gottman Method Certified Therapist. In her Corvallis based private practice, she provides integrative psychological services that are evidence based and responsive to a diagnostically diverse population, as well as honoring human differences inherent in race, culture and ethnicity, gender and gender identity, religion and spirituality. Dr. Amorok earned her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology/Exercise Science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and her Masters and Doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from The California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in San Francisco, California. As a pre and post doctoral clinician Tina provided outpatient services for private and community mental health clinics in San Francisco, and for Mills-Peninsula Health Services at Peninsula Hospital in the Bay Area where she worked as a treatment coordinator and therapist on their adolescent and adult psychiatric in-patient units, out-patient clinics, and for their psychiatric emergency and intake departments conducting hospital-wide psychiatric evaluations. As a research scientist and educator, Dr. Amorok, co-edited the academic text book anthology, Consciousness and Healing: Integral Approaches to Mind-Body Medicine (Churchill Livingston / Elsevier, 2005) and co-authored, Living Deeply: The Art and Science of Transformation in Everyday Life, (New Harbinger/ Noetic Books, Jan 2008). Her theoretical dissertation, "The Eco-Trauma and Eco-Recovery of Being," examines how to heal and transform our relationship with one another and the natural world. It draws on intergenerational trauma and feminist reappraisals of trauma, to apply what we know about how traumatic relationships are transmitted across generations so to help understand and transform aberrant human-human and human-nature relationships.
