Therapy with Z, LLC
The students I work best with are often carrying a lot while trying to keep moving forward. You may be dealing with anxiety or depression, the effects of difficult or traumatic experiences, chronic illness or pain, questions about identity, relationship concerns, academic pressure, or uncertainty about what comes next. You might look like you are managing well from the outside while feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, disconnected, or stuck internally.
You do not need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. I work especially well with students who are curious about themselves and willing to explore what is happening, even when they are not yet sure what they want to change. I also welcome students who have felt misunderstood, judged, or reduced to a diagnosis in previous healthcare or therapy experiences.
Our work is collaborative. I want to understand what life is actually like for you, what matters to you, what has helped you get this far, and where you would like things to be different. Depending on what you need, we might make sense of patterns, work through difficult experiences, develop practical ways to manage overwhelming thoughts or emotions, or explore how to treat yourself with greater understanding and compassion.
My practice is affirming of 2SLGBTQIA+ students and neurodivergent students, and I welcome people with different identities, backgrounds, values, and ways of experiencing the world. Therapy does not have to be about becoming a different person. It can be about understanding yourself more fully and finding ways to navigate college, relationships, health, and life that work better for you.
