The Radical Social Worker

Clinical Social Work/Therapist, DSW, LICSW, CST
Last Updated 30+ days ago

Hello! I'm Dr. Spooner (she/they), a radical clinical social worker and AASECT-certified sex therapist dedicated to helping individuals liberate themselves from shame and stigma surrounding their sexual preferences, identities, and orientations. My approach is grounded in intersectional and antiracist principles, recognizing that many challenges stem from systemic oppression and marginalization. I strive to create a supportive space where clients can explore and address issues related to their sexual identities, fostering a path toward a healthier and more fulfilled self.
Considering treatment/support related to sexual health and satisfaction? My specialties are as follows: Sex Offender Treatment & Problematic Sexual Behaviors; MAP support; Gender Identity; Sexual Trauma; BDSM/Kink; Fetishes; Cross-Dressing; Monogamous and Non-Monogamous Relationships; Body Image; and Compulsive Sexual Behaviors/Pornography use.
In regard to style, I'm a warm and engaging therapist who believes that humor and laughter (when appropriate) can be some of the best medicine. I'm honest and direct while also being encouraging and compassionate. Life is hard enough; you need a therapist who can provide you with a safe and judgment-free space to discuss whatever is on your heart and mind.
