Tessa has experience in child welfare working alongside children, adolescents, and their families. Tessa has experience providing individual therapy to young adults and young professionals. She is skilled in addressing delicate topics and has extensive knowledge on various traumas. She strives to provide a safe non-judgmental atmosphere for clients to feel comfortable being themselves and be open about their experiences. Tessa uses evidence-based models and tools to help clients better understand themselves and explore the root causes of their distresses and patterns. Tessa graduated from Calvin College with her Bachelors in Social Work and Michigan State University with her Masters of Social Work. At Michigan State University, Tessa studied Clinical Social Work with a concentration in Evidence-Based Trauma Treatments and Family Social Work. Tessa is fully trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). With these approaches, Tessa empowers those experiencing trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, stress, adjustments, self-esteem, and more.
