Hello, I'm Tara. Mental health is integral to living a healthy, balanced life. I understand that the stigma attached to mental health illnesses can make seeking treatment daunting. My goal is to provide you with the treatment and coping skills you need to manage life stressors while always showing you respect, empathy, and acceptance. By utilizing appropriate therapeutic techniques, I can help you identify and change destructive thought patterns that negatively influence your behaviors and emotions.
I graduated from Ohio University in 2016 with a Masterâs in Education and have since become an independent Licensed Professional Counselor (LPCC). Currently, I work at an outpatient sober living agency that focuses on primary substance abuse and mental health, but I am thrilled to be starting my journey into private practice. I utilize a variety of evidence-based psychotherapy approaches through CBT and DBT techniques, including identifying negative thinking, distorted thinking patterns, core mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation. These techniques are effective in treating a range of mental health disorders, including substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, eating disorders, and PTSD.
I truly love being a therapist because I get to assist people in discovering a new sense of happiness and freedom. It is incredibly rewarding to witness increased hope and inner strength in my clients as they are empowered to live their best lives.
If you feel ready to start this journey towards a healthier and more balanced life, I would be honored to work with you. Let's take this step together.
