I have worked as a psychologist since 1994, serving adolescents, adults, couples and families, and provided supervision for other psychotherapists. I was a research faculty at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in the Division of Mental Health; and at the University of Miami School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry where I served as the Clinical Director of the Center for Treatment Research on Adolescent Substance Abuse from 1998-2003. I have experience in treating a diverse population with an understanding of the specific treatment issues of minority populations.
I understand and apply the most up-to-date knowledge and techniques in the field of psychology to solve the problems of clients.
I am trained in multiple evidence based psychology practices (EBPPs): approaches that have been scientifically proven to be effective including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Additionally, I have co-authored several evidence-based (scientifically proven effective) treatment models.
