For over 30 years, I’ve dedicated my career to helping children, adults, and families navigate life’s challenges and build healthier, more resilient lives. My approach is compassionate and practical, drawing on evidence-based methods to treat the full spectrum of emotional and behavioral disorders.
I have advanced training in counseling psychology and clinical psychology, including postdoctoral work with Dr. Arnold Lazarus at Rutgers University. My experience spans private practice, program development, graduate teaching, and innovative therapy programs for children. As Director of Team Velvet, Inc., I created horse-assisted interventions to support children dealing with trauma and loss, blending creativity, empathy, and resilience training.
In therapy, I believe in meeting clients where they are, listening deeply, and tailoring strategies to each individual’s needs—whether you are coping with grief, trauma, stress, relationship difficulties, or childhood challenges. Alongside my clinical work, I’ve authored books and over 100 articles on psychological well-being, self-esteem, and resilience.
My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where healing can take place and where individuals and families can find hope, strength, and new ways forward.
