Grief can often leave us feeling disillusioned, distraught, and alone in the world. Initially, others say “If there is anything you need, just let me know, okay?” We nod and say “Thank you, not knowing what we even need.” After the first two weeks support from the community, friends, and family starts to diminish. The thought enters our mind “Have they forgotten…” It’s normal for us to feel angry and resentful because the world keeps going on like nothing happened when we are frozen in time.

It's hard to find our footing when every waking moment is filled with deep yearning and sorrow. We just want them back! The devastation of it all may lead to heart palpitations, shortness of breath, chest pains, digestive issues, lack of appetite, body heaviness, extreme fatigue, and lack of concentration is further impacted by insomnia. Others don’t understand how we cannot get out of bed, take a shower, and forget to brush our teeth.

I get it. EVERY. THING. is so HARD. I have had days like this too, at times I still do, but, they have also changed. These times are more manageable.

Hi, I'm Stacy Lepley, a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), certified in Compassionate Bereavement Care (CBC). I specialize in traumatic grief support from a decolonized and non-pathological view, for adults. I offer online individual therapy and support groups to help clients navigate bereavement challenges.

My approach is rooted in Compassionate Bereavement Care, Continuing Bonds, Mindful Self-Compassion, EMDR, Brainspotting, Expressive Arts Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and trauma-informed care to provide a safe and compassionate space for healing and growth. I integrate personal experience and professional knowledge into my work with clients, providing a comprehensive and empathetic approach to supporting them through their grief.
