Spill the Tea Counseling: Karlie Southworth
Hi, my name is Karlie, and I am so glad you are here. I invite you to come spill the tea with me in a space that is cozy, casual, collaborative, and compassionately challenging. Therapy with me is rooted in genuine connection, where healing, growth, self-understanding, empowerment, and moments of laughter can all exist together.
My therapeutic approach is Person-Centered and holistic, as I focus on the whole experience of each client while honoring their pace, perspective, and goals. I believe strong rapport is built through compassion, curiosity, trust, and taking time to understand each person’s lived experience and worldview. I also incorporate CBT and somatic modalities to support awareness, emotional regulation, positive routines, and practical tools that can be used in daily life.
I work with adolescents and adults navigating trauma, life transitions, anxiety, depression, body image concerns, women’s issues, and other life stressors. My work centers on creating a relaxed and affirming environment where clients can breathe, reflect, and better understand how past experiences may continue to live in the body.
I am committed to providing inclusive care that honors the impact of identity, family systems, relationships, and lived experiences on mental health and healing. As a former student athlete, I also provide space for athletes to navigate mental health, performance, holistic well-being, and the transition out of competitive sports. I strive to help clients explore their experiences through a lens that feels authentic to their worldview and goals.
When I’m not in the therapy room, I enjoy the slower moments of life—loving on cats, watching TV, and spending time in coffee shops.
