Sophia Verella
As a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 10 years of experience, I help adults struggling with mental health challenges through compassionate, individualized, and evidence-based care. These challenges may include anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, emotional issues, life transitions, and psychiatric symptoms.
Meeting each person with compassion, respect, and without judgment allows me to be a supportive and collaborative partner throughout your mental health journey. That's the kind of partnership I look forward to building with you, helping you better understand your needs, build on your strengths, and work toward meaningful, lasting improvements in your overall well-being.
My approach is holistic and evidence-based, focusing not just on symptoms, but on your overall well-being, through a collaborative partnership where your voice and experiences guide a tailored treatment plan designed to help you regain stability and thrive.
Working together, you can expect a supportive and nonjudgmental environment that uses psychoeducation, medication management, and supportive therapy to help you better understand your symptoms, build effective coping strategies, and feel more confident in your treatment decisions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and straightforward throughout your care, which is tailored to your unique needs, experiences, and treatment goals.
My path to becoming a PMHNP began with more than a decade of working as a psychiatric nurse, caring for individuals across inpatient, emergency, community, and outpatient mental health settings. These experiences deepened my commitment to psychiatric care that considers the whole person, not just their symptoms. I bring this clinical experience, empathy, and a practical, collaborative perspective to each session with you in my practice now.
Outside of work, I love spending time with family and friends, traveling, trying new restaurants, listening to music, and finding time to relax and recharge.
