Ariel Sherry
Are you struggling with stress, anxiety, or a major life transition? Do you want to move past feeling overwhelmed and gain practical, evidence-based skills to feel grounded, independent, and confident in your ability to handle life’s challenges?
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), I support children, teens, adults, and seniors managing Anxiety, Stress, Grief & Loss, Life Transitions, ADHD, and OCD. I also have dedicated experience guiding students through the personal adjustments of new life chapters.
My practice blends a person-centered foundation with structured, evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. If you are ready to build confidence and take ownership of your path forward, I invite you to reach out.
In our sessions, you can expect a safe, collaborative environment where you are the expert on your own life. My style bridges gaining self-understanding with active skill-building, helping you gain clarity on underlying patterns while developing practical strategies to handle life’s challenges.
Depending on your goals, our work may involve:
CBT: Identify unhelpful thought patterns and gradually facing anxiety-inducing situations without engaging in the automatic behaviors that may actually be maintaining anxiety, helping you build self-trust and respond to anxiety and/or stress with confidence.
ACT: Learn how to step back from overwhelming thoughts, make room for tough emotions without fighting them, and take meaningful actions based on what matters to you.
Solution-Focused & Motivational Interviewing: Work through mixed feelings about change, tap into your existing strengths, and create clear, manageable steps toward your personal goals.
I view therapy as an active partnership where we don't just process feelings—we practice real-world strategies that empower you to make your own decisions and navigate life with increased confidence.
My path to becoming a counselor grew from my own experience in therapy navigating personal loss, complex family dynamics, and major life shifts. Experiencing this firsthand has shaped my commitment to empathetic, skills-focused care. Today, I combine lived understanding with clinical expertise to ensure you feel genuinely heard while gaining the tools needed to grow.
When I’m not in the office, I cherish time spent staying active by going on walks, hikes, and attending baseball/hockey games. I also love cozy moments at home, reading fantasy and crime novels, watching captivating documentaries and comedy specials, and simply recharging by spending quality time with friends and family.
