Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC
Last Updated 30+ days ago

Since starting private practice, my clients have been for the most part POC, LGBTQ/non-binary, undergrad/graduate students.

Since I spent five years teaching as an adjunct and then full-time professor (in nursing), I have some insights into the challenges today's students currently experience and believe I can be a useful asset toward managing any symptoms that may interfere with obtaining your degree.

Even though I am a prescriber, I treat the whole person. I don't want to just know the medicine efficacy, or lack thereof; I also want to know what's going on in your life. Is there balance? Are you connected socially? Should we also be discussing any family issues? Going off to school can be challenging and although psychotropic medication plays a role in ameliorating anxiety and depression, we also can engage non-pharmacologic interventions to get you to a better place.
