Maureen Sharp
Welcome! As a lesbian therapist, I’m dedicated to supporting queer/LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, college students, as well as adults and teens from all backgrounds and identities. If you’re looking to understand and process your emotions, explore and embrace your queer identity, navigate significant life transitions, or manage anxiety, trauma, depression, academic pressures, or other aspects of mental health, I’m here to offer compassionate support. My practice focuses on the mind-body connection, providing an affirming space where you can explore your experiences, gain valuable insights, build resilience, connect deeply with your body, and work towards meaningful, lasting change. I believe in the transformative power of vulnerability and the beauty of embracing your true self.
As a PhD student in mental health counseling, my research and practice center around gender and sexual diversity. I integrate somatic practices, emotion-focused therapy, and psychodynamic techniques to foster healing and self-discovery.
I understand how overwhelming it can be to face these challenges alone, and I’m here to offer engaged, non-judgmental support throughout our sessions. Therapy is conducted virtually, so you can join from the comfort of your home with your beloved pets by your side. I provide superbills for insurance reimbursement, which most student insurance plans accept. I invite you to reach out for a free consultation to get started!
