Dr. Scarborough provides testing services including neuropsychological, psychological, and psychoeducational evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults (college students) in Baltimore County and the surrounding areas. Each evaluation is tailored to the individual in order to address specific concerns (e.g., difficulty focusing, problems completing tasks/assignments, losing things, etc.) and questions (e.g., Do I have ADHD?). The evaluation will provide an understanding of the individual’s unique pattern of thinking including their cognitive strengths and areas of growth. After an evaluation, clients will have gained a better understanding of their cognitive functioning and the necessary tools to best support them.
Areas of functioning typically assessed include overall intellectual functioning (i.e., IQ), attention, executive functions (e.g., problem solving, working memory, set-shifting, planning, organization, etc.), verbal/language skills, nonverbal/visual spatial skills, memory/learning, processing speed, academic skills (e.g., reading, math, writing, etc.), emotional/behavioral functioning, and adaptive skills. In addition to formal testing-completed by Dr. Scarborough, evaluations include a thorough clinical/diagnostic interview, a feedback session to review results and recommendations, as well as a personalized detailed report.
