Sarah Gaughan
I believe we don't have to face life's difficult moments alone. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, chronic stress, questions about identity and belonging, or navigating a new stage of life, I aim to work collaboratively as we define goals, and build resilience and self-awareness. I work with all ages, though primarily work with adults and have experience working with military personnel and their families, individuals diagnosed with chronic medical conditions, college students and first responders.
I strive to create a welcoming, safe environment as we work collaboratively towards your goals. As both a counselor and art therapist, I often invite creativity into the therapeutic process as a way to deepen self-expression and self-exploration when word not longer suffice. My work is rooted in trauma informed, person-centered and non-pathologizing care.
One of the things I value most as a therapist is remaining open to learning. I am passionate about understanding the many identities, cultures, and experiences that shape our lives and about recognizing how larger systems and environments influence our wellbeing. I strive to meet each client with respect, curiosity, and genuine care.
