Beginning therapy can feel like an intimidating experience. We have this idea of an unknown place where a stranger makes us open up about some of our deepest innermost thoughts… and then what happens? I get it. I’ve had those same thoughts about beginning therapy. But, what if I told you therapy doesn’t have to be hard or intimidating? I believe therapy should be rewarding and even fun (for real)! As your therapist, I will support you as we uncover what it means to have a life worth living and find ways to actually achieve that life! My goal is to create a space for you to be authentically yourself – no shame, expectations, or judgment. From that place, we will work on concrete strategies to help you achieve the life you want to live.

I have a particular passion for working with individuals who are experiencing symptoms of eating disorders and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I understand that what was once something that felt safe and gave you some control over your life, may have now transformed into something that itself is controlling your life. In our work together, we will explore evidence-based treatments to once again feel like you are the one in the driver’s seat. I also enjoy working with individuals who are facing challenges related to body image, self-esteem, perfectionism, anxiety, self harm, and suicidal ideation.

Whether you have an eating disorder or not, I work from a Health At Every Size (HAES) framework and believe that our physical bodies are the least interesting aspect of who we are as individuals. A core value of mine is to provide a safe and affirming space for all marginalized communities. Also, as a queer, neurodivergent woman, I love working with these populations as I can understand on a deeper level the unique experience of navigating this world as a member of these communities.

I believe that you don’t have to feel “ready” for therapy. You don’t have to show up looking put together or with all the answers, you can just show up. Come as you are, and we’ll work together on the rest of it. I really look forward to getting to know you!
